Do you know what, after reading the testimonials on the Hi-Ex site I think next year I'll bring the whole family up, D'Arcy will be getting on for 18 mths - so she can go off and finger paint all over the auction artwork, LARF V3.0 and LARF V4.0 can go in the Cos Play and just generally be a nuisance to all the artists: "Can you draw me Boba Fett fighting Judge Dredd on a Transformer.", LARF V1.0 and 2.0 may be old enough to fend for themselves and may not even take up the offer - so we may come home to a wrecked house, but hey that's 15 and 16 year olds for you, and Mrs LARF (LBot: W1fee-W00) has always wanted to go to Scotland...

World of Dredd - WOD

A MMORPG like WOW where you can enter Mega City One as a Cit, a Judge (after training), a Perp, etc. etc. etc.

Orlok is much older than a year- Remember pitching that to Nick at Bristol- it was in the big hall, which makes it almost two years ago.

It was 2007... sorry RAC

If I were a betting man, I would have a fiver on the old favourite "placeholder artwork slipped through" explanation making an appearance in this matter before very much longer.

Nonetheless, before making a statement like :the images were supplied ... directly by 2000D", it's usually wise to make sure that this is actually the case!

Cheers

Jim

...and being in the design industry we all know the placeholder artwork excuse is a load of bollocks because:

  • if you're efficient you put a PHAW mark over the image
  • you use RGB artwork which either gets spotted at pre-flight or at printers proof stage
  • the image is low res so is pixelated on reproduction / proof stage it's spotted

Coming from the Mag industry the probable cause is that the fridge magnets were given to the Junior Designer / Freelance / A. Other department - the Ed. / Art Ed. never checked them, or if they did they never checked the provenance of each image through the library and checked the ©. It was a first issue so everyone was working up to the wire to get it right.

No excuses though esp. with artwork not belonging (meaning has been bought / commissioned from the artist by Rebellion) to 2000AD being used.

1: Cravenoir: just freaks me out and so well illustrated, it's beautiful

2: Mygrimmbrother: great use of single colour and the characters are spot on

3: IAMTHESYSTEM: Like the pastel shades and the soft approach for such a hard subject

HM: Cpt. Rhodes 1 - brilliant

Too difficult this month, it really was...
