Welcome to the board / Re: Hello again

Bit of an old timer? I think you'll find that the majority of us are around your age spireite. I don't live and work too far from you, was raised in Killamarsh, went to Chesterfield art college, work in Halfway - currently live just outside Mansfield... Dredd fan forever :-)

Personally I don't mind what kind of fudge magnet they are, as long as I get to put them on my fridge (wife depending)

Is this based on the Simon Scarrow books?

...and the winner is.

OK, before I carry on...

sorry it's a tad delayed. in the course of this project we've had another baby, moved house, and other minor impediments that have relegated this comp to the back burner. But no more as the big 40 is steadily approaching towards the fifth of May....

So the winner is...

Kev Lev (PM me your address Kev for your £50!)

Things is though I cannot decide on a final design from this lot.

Please can the board help me in deciding which one, or which combination of design to choose from - I want it as authentic as possible...

Oh Hivemindy Ones Canonly you are my only hope!

PS: I quite like number 3, but maybe with the tail and legs from number 8, but not sure what should go in the shield, and also wondering whether the stars in the shield will hold...

Creative Common / Camera crew needed
11 February, 2010, 02:02:33 PM
Hi Hivemind

I'm looking for a camera crew, preferably around Sheffield, I need camera, sound and lighting and possibly access to a studio - either that or they will need to travel to central Europe to film a series of talking heads shots.

Please PM me if you know of anyone who can help.

Cheers

I've just decided to take on a yougster in the studio on workplacement from school and at 14, she is an exceptional talent when it comes to comics, illustration etc. But it's mostly anime and manga, and I want to send her some links to artists blogs that show how they work etc. To show her some more diverse work other than manga - expand her knowledge a tad.

So hivemind what are your favourite artist blogs / sites please so I can pass on to the next generation:

Keep it real people.

Time Warp card, and a spin on a D12 gives me the Jurassic era, a twelve step fossil lift by 10,000 years and the flightless card means that I can carry over 400 tonnes in the time machine. Unfortunately this drops the return timeframe by 20 years, fortunately I've picked a 6X multiply card which means...

I bring back 6 dinosaurs to Old Street Station in Jan 1990.

Predictometer has spun a 6, 8, 23 and 2 which infers by 2010 humanity has been halved in population, set back over 200 years in development, are fighting off dinosaurs and trains no longer exist, so therefore all the stations are redundant and everyone travels on dinosaurs...

Therefore I call: Pteradactyl Lane SW1, riding a Stegasaurus

Click Wheel is shit. It's unresponsive, slowwwwwww, and has little content...

I use Comixology on my iPhone, I've got hundreds of comics, discovered the brilliant Invincible and Astounding Wolfman by Robert Kirkman (Walking Dead), Irideemable by Mark Waid, Impaler and loads of really great Underground stuff you'd find really difficult to get hold of on this side of the pond.

Put that on the iPad and it would be awesome!

True, true, but if it does kick off it would be a lovely product to read comics on...

I'm getting one for my 40th birthday, my wife does not know this yet and I may get a pair of sock and a scarf instead.

I was thinking about this on the way home last night after hearing about the launch of iPad - if this takes off you could have:

2000AD in the iBook store

2000AD apps - games based around 2000AD characters

2000AD cartoons - the new ABC warriors cartoon

The next thing for Rebellion, given a decent platform, would be to effectively launch 2000AD into a true digital marketplace. They tried it with clickwheel but TBH it's pants, I use ComiXology and have hundreds of comics on my iPhone that I reread quite frequently and I know given a better, bigger screen, and faster platform like the iPad I'd def use it. I'd probably still get the paper version, maybe for a while, but the iPhone / iPad has introduced me to thousands of new comics - including Robert Kirkman's Invincible which is truly brilliant tale telling, Astounding Wolfman and also Top Cow's Impaler (Matt Timson take a bow), 2000AD could do the same - increase their prominence and go global effectively with digital versions - I'd buy them at least.
