This isn?t about the TV chef, I've just received a letter from a young chap who occasionally sends me Judge Dredd quizzes for the 79 site.

All I know is that he?s probably still at school and a big Dredd fan, if you are reading this Jamie get in touch so I can send you something for the quizzes that you have sent me.

>Okay, so I didn't like the sports ones, but the principle helped keep a good balance of stories in 2K.

I always enjoyed the sports stories, the problem with them was that the concept was enjoyable but they always outstayed their welcome.
Harlem Heroes was a good read but was never that keen on Inferno. Even Liked the Mean Team but as soon as Bad Jack killed his owner it went seriously downhill.
My fave has to Mean Arena a great opening (it may have been predictable but I was only 13) but again oberstayed its welcome with the Slayer hunting his brother's killers getting very tired.
Love to see a new sports story but with a definate ending already lined up so it cant keep going on, and on and on.

The pisser is I have the Devlin cover and have never seen a Mazeworld cover. So still trying to find one as the sad fanboy that I am it'll bug me if I cant get one eventually to go with the other variants that I have stacked away 8-?

" So why didn't they just remove the "Free CD" text, rather then re-do the entire cover? "

Because the Devlin Waugh cover was shite and the only thing that took your eye away from it was the free gift.

>Y'know, apart from the beard I have no problem with this as a stylised image of Dredd. Anyway, it's Frank Miller - what do you expect?

Some effort for the money he was being paid.

It was supposed to be for the 10th Anniversary special, Diggle had written Lenny Zero and waived his fee so that they could afford Miller and the resulting cover art was quite crap. It also meant that we ended up with a Siku cover 8-)

Suppose the best thing to come out of it was Lenny Zero.

>I'm probably gonna get slated for this but I'd really like Frank Miller to do a Dredd, but he's gotta make an effort. More Dark Knight than DK2.

If he ever did I hope he's put more effort into it than the cover that he did and was thankfully returned to him.

>You know, to the best f my memory, ALAN DAVIS has never done a proper Dredd. I remember a cover with batman, but that was it.

He did the cover and also did the Dredd story inside. It was a tester for a Dredd/Batman project that eventually evolved into Judgement on Gotham.

>Gibson art would suit that revival...

Always thought Henry Flint would be good on ACE, weird aliens, spaceships and just the whole sense of fun.

>Where do you find the space for all this stuff? I can barely store my comics collection and I certainly don't want badges, helmets and replica Slaine loincloths cluttering up the place as well

Understanding missus and no kids, so I have the spare room to keep all the comics in. The few pages of artwork I have are hung up the stairs and my pinball machine is presently at a museum.

Wagner wanted Dredd to have a cape, but when he saw it he admitted he was wrong but was stuck with it for the duration of the Luna stories.

The badges do have the Judges name on, take a look at PJ's Ishmael artwork for '79. His designs were based upon McMahon's SJS uniform, the original and still the best version, accept no substitutes.
