>Didn't he once get infra red eyes?

The Eyes, Anderson, give me enhanced clarity over distance, 20 - 20 night vision and a fifty per cent reduction in blinking time. Their efficency is unarguable.

In fact, my one regret is that I didn't have the operation done years ago.

>So it's not unreasonable to think exile could be to Titan. Or maybe the cursed earth?

Exile is generally outside of the city wall, The Cursed Earth.

>Note, this is before Dredd discovers Sladek has killed a few of the blackmailers.
>This is in complete contrast to Dredd's reprimand of Demarco in the pit storyline.

Dredd believed that DeMarco was a good Judge, if a little mis guided and deserved a second chance. Sladek at the end of the day may have been a complete twat, we don't know, but he did have a moustache, and we know how much Dredd hates facial hair, so Sladek should be grateful that he only got 20 years.

You stopped being a Judge the moment you broke regs with the Falucci woman.
Twenty years on Titan. Was love worth that Sladek?

Oh, yes. It was worth it. That and more. But I guess that's something you'll never understand.

Just to add nothing to this storage debate.
All 2000's in 2000AD storage boxes all in plastic 2000AD bags and the first 500 progs have acid free backing boards. Very sad and anal but it gives me something to do on the cold winters nights.

>I keep my progs in large file boxes (from Staples) which hold 40 progs each, so the weight is not too great. I use one large poly bag per box.
>At ?50 per 10 boxes, that's at least ?100 for 500 progs...though subscribers may be able to get a discount on this price in the online shop.

Get proper 2000AD comic boxes they?re about ?5 each and hold between 150 ? 200 Progs depending on if they are bagged and have backing boards in.

>2000AD is a comic that is being picked up by a range of ages and although I use the average age to justify purchase, I am sure that there are a lot of younger readers out there who don't know any better. Greater care should be taken with how content is portrayed. You cite violence as existing in the comic each issue, but it is for the most part handled maturely, and shows consequences that are real. The way drug-use has been portrayed by Rennie is morally irresponsible. I don't want to sound as if I am preaching as I really don't care what people do with their lives - Gordon Rennie can be a junkie for all I care (again no offence meant) but his portrayal of drug-use may be of detriment to younger readers.
>Next time Hend-RE think before you type.

Yeah Ginge, think!

I?ve been reading 2000AD since I was 10 and as an impressionable youngster I tried to do DIY Compu-Puncture, my body still bears the scars of all those needles. And the list doesn?t end there, I?ll never forget the time I tried to impregnate myself after reading Al's Baby, which is nothing compared to the time I tried to remove the top of my head and replace half my brain like Kano. After Below Zero I attempted to remove my arm but that didn?t work so had to stick with my Bio-Tronic stickers. After reading Big Dave I turned into a real bigot and no one was safe from my Sun reader expletives. I won?t go into too much detail as my time trying to be Harry Exton as I don?t want the bodies found. My pets have never been the same since I tried to turn them in to Yugees and my wife, who?s a bit soft still hasn?t got used to the dial I stuck in her head. After serving in the forces and having a couple of friends die their families weren?t to pleased when I attempted to remove their Dog Chips with a rusty chisel, and pretending to be the Universal Soldier never did get me promoted as quickly as I had hoped.

I?m sure there are many stories that have appeared over the years that could fit into the Storming Heaven category but are there many readers as stupid as me to try and emulate what they read.

I work with kids between 10 and 16 and believe me they know more than people give them credit for and I can?t imagine that many will try LSD in an attempt to become a superhero. At many times in history people have tried to scare monger about stories in comics but as we all know it?s not real, it?s a comic with stories in to entertain. If a few are stupid enough to try anything then they are just as likely to try and copy ideas they see in many more mediums as they are more popular than the comic we enjoy. The computer games that they play are more violent and contain more possibilities for giving kids ideas than a story in a comic.

Well I?m off to try and perfect Rennie's strain of LSD and turn my world in to magenta rich world that Rennie and Irving have created.

How true, I'm sure the writers couldn't have done it without him. Infact his genius is so recognised nowe that in certain cirles his actually listed first, as with Borderline's reporting of Storming Heaven by Irving & Rennie.

In fact how did we last for over 20 years without him, all other artists are dead, long live the Fraze.

>Frazer is indeed very good, but of all the recent newcomers I prefer Henry Flint and Jock.

How long does a droid like Henry Flint have to work on 2000AD Before he's no longer a newcomer?

Henry's first 2000AD work was in PROG 889, dated 27th May, 1994.

Isn't it about time that after nearly eight years Henry was allowed to change out of the short trousers of primary Droid school and move upto the level of established art droid?

>Due to being married I have to sell my collection of 2000AD that span over 20 years worth. All individually sealed and well look after.

You have to sell!! The only reason I could imagine having to get rid of my 2000?s is if I ever become homeless and need the boxes to make some new home under a bridge somewhere 8-)

>?500 for the lot. Including annuals and dredd magazines.

20 years worth for ?500, if they are in as good a nick as you are saying you might be underselling yourself.

>Please email me for more details. Genuine collector, forced to sell!

I have to sell, forced to sell, what sad words. I don?t see why marriage should be a reason for selling a collection. Don?t like the comic anymore, or just want to get rid of them because I don?t want them, but due to marriage? 8-(

>I always thought the point of the Megazine was to showcase the large and varied world Judge Dredd lived in.  How long has it been largely reprints?

Reprints started around Volume 3 No. 19.

>I would have thought Titan Books the best place for those.

They would be but as has been discussed in great lemgth in other 2000AD forums the reprints are about the only thing that have made the Megazine viable due to its sales figures.

>It might not be financially viable to do all new stuff I suppose.  Instead of strips about cool people with guns, I'd like some strips about the ordinairy (?) citizens and other Cities.

With Rebellion coming on board the Megazine does seem to be having an upsurge in quality and original material, but until the sales figures increase we will have the selection of reprints V's new material.

>you also have to remeber that, you perception has changed since then i read bad city blue when i was about ten and thought it was great.... now because i am an old bugger i think its pants...

I originally loved Bad City Blue, but nowadays think its lost something with the passage of time and my advancing years.

What you have to remember about 2000 and the stories you loved as a kid is the reason you originally liked the story.

I can still enjoy Bad City Blue but have to think back to why I originally liked it and use such stories as a way of remembering bygone times. Don't look at old thrills with your older and wisaer head but in a way of remembering times that have now gone by.

>Richard... you know something? you might just have it there, Rico judging Joe, My guess is that it would be for an error of Judgement causing Joe to take the Long Walk "again" and not be killed off as such! seriously you might just have the answer, but alas only time will tell.

Dredd will never die as long as John Wagner is writing him. The years may roll over and Dredd may get one year older as our years pass by.

Continuity is a trap we've all fallen into but does it really matter how old Dredd is? I once asked John abouit how Dredd will die/be replaced and his answer was that Dredd will never die.

>Errr, so what[backslash]'s the class of 79 all about, then?  Is it an online zine, or does it exist on the physical plane?  What does it DO?  What makes it... TICK?  Also, what[backslash]'s La Placa Rifa?  Is that a joke name that sounds like Reefer?  Or do you actually live there?

A sensible question from the whipper snapper.

The Class Of ?79 is a Judge Dredd fanzine. Two issues have been printed and for the last couple of years its been run as a web site awaiting enough funds to do issue 3. Winner of The best self-published/independent comic at the 1999 national comic awards and nominated for the same award in 2000.

La Placa Rifa as correctly answered by DamnandBlast in another post means The Badge Rules and is taken from the Dredd story that appeared in Prog 718 also titled La Placa Rifa.

For a look at 79?s old web site take a peek at:

http://www.subhuman.net/cybergoth/classof79/

and a new site will appear when it?s finished.

Now I await death monkeys completely mad and irrelevant reply.
