Dredd as he is now - how can he claim to feel guilt about Lopez, but is apparently unfussed that he committed genocide against millions?

The guilt comes from making Lopez do something that he feels he should have submitted himself to.

Killing millions at the push of a button is an easy decision to take to save your city because the numbers are huge but the death of an individual that you know and can see when you know it should be you.

I liked it when Gordon Rennie used to spill his bile duct, though, and would welcome a similarly short piece again.

Get rid of all the articles, give the pages over to Gordon to vent his spleen and I'd start buying the Meg again.

What in 2000AD do you just not "get" that so many others rave(d) about? An artist, a series, whatever.

Mainly because hair samples are found and match a suspect "and a million others" - I guess DNA sampling not so hot back then!

The other gripe is the Judge suspected of being The Executioner - she lookds absolutely identical to the real woman! Bad art from Ezquerra, really.

I'd put Letter from a Democrat down as the single most important episode of Dredd in the strip's history, TBH. All the developments in the series that have brought it to where it is today can pretty much be tracked back to this one story: an absolutely seismic shift in the tone of the series,

I'd probably have to go with Jim on this one, I may have other one parters that I reread more than others this is the story where you can trace everything back to.
I'd also tie in with this Bloodline biut I cant as its a two parter so will go for The Shooting Match Prog 650. LFAD may introduce the concept of Democracy and the slow change in Dredd's attitude, Shooting Match is the story that shows that Dredd is no longer the best, he's growing old and more importantly it is teh start of the Dredd Family stories and leads the way for the introduction of Rico later on.
