Am I allowed to say I think it looks absolutely cringeworthy?

No.  Wait, yes!  There is of course the potential that it would be more interesting if you added some meat of reason to your potatoes of cringe.  That is: what about the trailer makes you cringe?

Was it the lens flare?

The quarry?

The goggles?

Well I think a female Doctor's a bad idea full stop anyway but I think this Youtube video sums most of it up (and the comments below)..............

Just rewatched Moon again.   Fair play that's a good film and Jones seems to be a big fan of a lot of 60s and 70s sci fi especially British so hopefully it's in good hands.

Looks like they still haven't found a tv company to make it.

I must admit I found it very hard to watch to the end too.

I have no problem with humour, and I agree that there should be humour. I just don't want zany wacky humour. I don't think enough people will want to watch that for the show to be a success.

I don't think anybody wants that either.   Just some subtle humour and satire every now and then.   We don't want something like that awful web cartoon recently {which name evades me}

Along the lines of Judge Death: Diary of a Superfiend...

That's the one.  I can appreciate that the makers were trying to do something good but it just turned out like some goofy comedy type thing.

They've gotta do some robots and other futuristic stuff for this.  As has been said they don't always have to be the main characters like in Star Wars.  Sometimes they can be seen in the background, the foreground etc done with CGI even just for a few seconds to cut down on costs.  Other times for longer.

Again I'd like to see some of the original robots like Ro Busters, Robohunter etc.   The artwork they released a while back was a nice start and suitably futuristic so hopefully that's the look they'll go for.

There's other things from 2000AD I'd rather see turned into films but this could be interesting.

When I started re-reading Dredd in the Case Files a couple of years ago, I found Walter to be one of the most embarrassing artifacts of Dredd's past. If it was satire, it passed me by. Robohunter was much more successful in that regard. So no Walter, please, but since the new series isn't really focused on Dredd per-se, I doubt we'll see him.

Agree about Robohunter but Walter doesn't have to be done in some ott way.   I'd like to see Robohunter in the series and Robusters.

Agreed. Surely the most satisfying outcome is if the producers can combine ALL elements of the strip. Grim and gritty, satire, futuristic action and tech.. AND barmy humour!

Agree with that too.   I always thought Walter was a bit satirical.   I mean where else would you get a robot who has a Jonathan Ross speech impediment. :)

The term is rhotacism (or de-rhotacism).

I thought it was Wossism but nice to know it has a real term.

It's good to have some more news.   As for Walter I don't have a problem with him being in the show as long as he isn't too much comedy relief.  Don't forget 2000AD was full of humour.

There almost never is news during a pre-production cycle – only rumours. "We're still working on the show" isn't news.

It's been a long time though.  I'm begininng to wonder if we'll ever see it.

I'm surprised there hasn't been any news at all recently though.
