I just wondered how people make their own replica or custom superhero masks - e.g. Batman? Some kind of sculpting process? Also how do people make their own Dredd helmet replicas?

I haven't been on the forum in ages.
Just wondering where we were at with getting a Dredd sequel?

Gonna have tea in half an hour, just got netflix, had a cruddy day so fancy watching a good comedy film to cheer me up. But, I watch quite alot of films and have a large DVD collection, so don't want to see something obvious or rewatch something I know off by heart e.g. anchorman, ghostbusters, 40 yr old virgin etc

Can anyone recommend any leftfield choices??? If all else fails I'm just gonna watch some episodes of the Office (US) lol

Been playing on Skyrim obsessively recently and so been watching a few films that remind me of the Skyrim universe. Watched Immortals the other day - yesterday I watched the 2011 version of Conan the Barabarian.

Does anyone else think the latter is underated? I didn't hear people make a big fuss of it when it came out - and sure Momoa isn't the greatest actor on earth but he still played the part well imo and the film was good.
I also understand it that they are making another Conan film, but with Arnie returning to the role instead of Momoa.

Any one have any opinions?

You would be forgiven in thinking this was a virulent illness from the 1800s - However Backlight Bleed/ing is in fact common (so I've learnt) in LCD and LED TVs.

I have only recently learnt the terminology for this phenomena as my TV seems to be showing signs of it.If you googleimage some examples of Backlight Bleed you will see what I mean rather than me trying to articulate it.
Compared to cases I have seen in forums and online, my case of backlight bleed is not so bad, though I swear it is getting worse bit by bit. Most people are often not bothered about the effects of a bleeding backlight (again see google images) - however I am quite an obsessive compulsive person and if I notice something it niggles at me.
I have Samsung LED LCD TV and it was fine when I bought it - though many TVs I have had and taken back to the shop have had this problem; of uneven backlight coverage. At this point in time my backlight bleeding is starting to annoy me - 2 'folds' have appeared in the screen and there is slight cloudiness at the edges.
I've been sat alot recently with a broken rib, watching westerns and playing Skyrim to pass the time so it has been more annoying I guess.

So, does anyone have this problem?

So recently in the past few weeks I have become obsessed with Westerns. I have had the epiphany that most of the films I like have this 'Western sensibility' in their structures and narratives. For instance; Judge Dredd can be aligned with the archetypal Law-man who is the moral-backbone of the world even when morality and society crumbles around him. Anyway, I watch a Western every two days practically; old westerns, classic westerns, revisionist westerns, spaghetti westerns etc And I have loved 90% of them. I also have loved playing on the Red Dead Redemption Xbox 360 game.

So are there any westerns you guys love?/ Can recommend?/ Have opinions on? etc

I love Doctor Who, I guess because of the nostalgia it contains for me, it's legacy as the longest running most successful scifi series, and probably it's innovative origins.
Currently I've started watching every episode and series of Doctor Who starting from the 1960s Hartnell beginning era onwards in consequetive order - I guess this is a  quite obsessive task to take on - lol - but watching the old (and first) series of doctor who and I find them more entertaining and interesting compared to the new series.

So are there any WHO fans or Whovians on here - that are also watching past episodes - or have an opinion on the new series, or the future of doctor who? Speculation and Spoilers are fine , up to you guys if you want to blank them out.

I just recieved the Mad Max boxset through the post as, believe it or not, I have never seen any of the films all the way through.
I just have a few questions and speculative ponderings =
A) which of the Mad Max movies is the best?
B) is there a genesis story of how they were made i.e. the first film looks like it was made on NO budget and by a student filmmaker?
C) Will there be a Mad Max 4? and why hasnt there been one already with everyone still interested in the neo-western/post apocalyptic style of movie?
D) would YOU put Mel Gibson in a sequel? OR would you reboot Mad Max with a different actor?

This is probably a very stupid question, so please forgive me; but I just wanted to verify or check - are the 'dividers' in the case files volumes - i.e. the 'blank' pages that are just black and grey with the silouette of a Judges mask on them - there to denote different storylines throughout the progs history?

Needed; Judge Dredd calandar - good in quality.
I guess I could get one from previous years and use that as 2011.
But I don't know where to buy one from.

Has anyone as anal, ahem...and obsessive as me got a list of every key judge (i.e. with a given name) and enemy/enemy group that Dredd encounters or the game features) throughtout the game Dredd Vs Death - chapter by chapter.

e.g. chapter 1 = Judge ______, Judge ______, Icarus,
     chapter 2 = Psi Judge ______, dark judges

etc   

Ok, so I'm a relative new-comer to dredd - or rather the ins and outs of Dredd mythology. So can someone tell me the details of the lightning bolts on the helmet visor?

Are they considered a must for artists when drawing Dredd?
I guess they're supposed to be ironic SS allusion to the nazi SS and the actual fascism or the Judge system.

I wonder if anyone can help me here. Everytime I google-image Judge Dredd a particular pic distracts me; It looks like a figure, though more likely to be a statue of somekind (of Dredd);



If I were to make a movie fo Dredd, I would want himto look like this statue/figure.

Has anyone any idea where this pic is from or what it's actually of?

If YOU were to create a Dredd movie, what would you make the movie about? what Dredd era/years would you set it in? what characters would be in it? what would be the plot? Cast? etc

I recently purchased the DVD of the 1995 Judge Dredd movie, but then I heard mention of how certain release-versions are actually 'uncut' containing various violent scenes that were snipped from the mainstay of dvd releases. For example, apparently the German DVD release of the movie has these scenes uncut from the movie???

Can anyone help me with this and advice me as to where I can get a copy of the uncut movie OR if there is actually any point???

Just wondered A) when and how the Judge Minty film will be released B) what people think of it?

I think it's looking great from what I've seen so far. The only thing I don't like are the helmets. And I havn't seen enough of their version of Dredd yet to give opinion.
