Now I come to think about it I think it's called "The big adventure book". Copies come up on eBay occasionally but go for ridiculous amounts, especially considering I think it only reprints post-ban strips. I seem to recall it also reprints strips from Valiant as well.

Martin Barker's other book, which does have additional reprinted strips, is called "Comics: Ideology, Power and the Critics" and was published by Manchester University Press in 1989.

There is a hardback book which I've forgotten the name of, something like "the Adventure annual" which reprinted a selection of post-ban strips, it was about 200 pages.

Money and fame can't tempt me! I'm building a collection not dismantling one. My long term aim is to have a house with a reading room and purpose-built units containing carefully stored copies of my favourite comics. They will be there to be appreciated and read. If I were to lose them, any of them, I would be extremely upset!

A. John Cooper

Just watched Channel 4 news and they had a few storyboards "depicting" the fracas between Sir Alex Ferguson and David Beckham where he got the boot in the face. Who should have drawn them but none other than Judge Dredd and Johnny Red artist John Cooper! Nice to see he's still gigging. What next? MTV video music awards as drawn by Dave Gibbons?, Trooping the colour as seen through the eyes of Brian Bolland? The mind boggles!

Help! / Firewalls and 2000ADonline
28 August, 2003, 11:58:39 PM
Can anyone help? I've just installed a McAfee Firewall to my home pc and now every time I try to enter the message board it freezes on me and I have to quit the browser (I'm typing this from work!). Any tips on how to get around this problem? All the other pages on 2000ADonline seem to open ok, it's just entering the message board.

Thanks in advance.

"We have to go to Bar Ca Va, my favourite drinking haunt - it's a tequila bar but it's French!"

And then on to dance the night away in the Blue Angel followed by trying to get the taxi-man to take me through the tunnel!
