Not much to add beyond that

Loved it, seems to have been a long time since we've seen this fantastic character. Plenty of scope for more stories and of course Carlos MUST be the one to bring him to the pages of the Megazine.

Fingers crossed (you know it makes sense ;).

Blackmocco and Steve Green both nail it for me.

Sorry but that was all kinds of awful.

Why spend all that time and not remotely research what they are promoting (they have Amazon in Spain don't they?). A mish-mash is one thing but this was just plain gibberish.

People will get annoyed because, in this case, it does imho subtract a little from Dredd as a property. Why represent it like this?

They were daily weren't they?

Remembered collecting these as a kid cutting them out and putting them in a scrap book, loved them (God knows what happened to that scrap book).

Ordered it today as just noticed the banner ad , would have gutted to miss it as there are only 250 copies (why no marketing email?). Anyway very pleased they have done this and will look forward to future volumes.

Went to the Preston Comic-Con yesterday, fantastic to see John and Carlos there together , very gracious (even to star struck tongue tied bumbling fans like myself :-[). The Brit Cit Judges were there and really were good , always in character and put together some great photo moments for fans. After the event they also put on some street theatre leading a large group who were being shown to a viewing of Dredd, laid on by future tours (even shooting dead some pesky juves at the venue itself ).

Anyhow, speaking briefly to John and the judges (how about that for a band name? ;)) the impression I got was that things aren't quite as negative regarding a sequel as some think. The Make a Dredd Sequel campaign is having an impact, the stars and others in the industry want it , the numbers in terms of money are getting and looking better and the old stallone film is fading from memory. So yes I think we WILL get a sequel, the real question is when.

They've got a reasonable success rate?

Rico was a gangster, Kraken was a mass murderer, and Dolman's turned out to be the dullest character ever to see print. Fargo scrapped the constitution and abandoned due process, and whatever other fine qualities they may possess, Dredd and Rico II are fascists. Some of you bleeding heart do-gooders are going to insist that agoraphobia and degenerative mutation aren't Vienna or Nimrod's fault.

Hey Nobody's perfect  :D

It's a bit meaningless, isn't it, given that this throwaway reference was 14 years ago? They could have triple the number of clones in service now, or alternatively lost them all.

I don't think so, Dredd's ancestry/heritage has  been a core part of his character from the very beginning.  Dredd isn't getting any younger (how old is he now 70 or 75!) ,so in terms of legacy and what he sees as his replacement(s) this would be interesting to explore.

I didn't count Nimrod or Paris as they were altered.

Suggestions / The Seven

Way back in  Prog 2016 (October 2000) Dredd asked the deputy Chief Medical Officer how many clones there were of himself in the works (so to speak) ,to which the reply came 'seven'.

We already had Rico (who is currently a long time absent from the pages from 2000ad -Please BRING HIM BACK ); then a short while later came Dolman.

But what happened to the others?

Would like to see a resolution to this question, which could be very interesting given the original Dredd is becoming ever more aware of his own mortality.

My entry into the suggestion box.

Many thanks
