Missed the Gary Speed tribute last week but spotted the Starsky and Hutch duo this week (the two in the hospital)

Do I win a prize? :D

I thought that Carlos Ezquerra provided the pencils and colours, and Hector inked? I wondered as I noticed a shift in inking technique at the same time that Hector's name appeared on the credits. Johnny Alpha's face, particularly his nose, seem odd, and the inking has become simpler. The colouring I can't see any great difference with, but assumed it was because Carlos had been ill at the time.

I'm not complaining as I enjoy Strontium Dog regardless.

Your nose would be all squashed and squishy being pressed against a coffin box for ten odd years ;) :D

Prog / Re: Prog Golden Age: now is the time?

2000AD has been, as far as I'm concerned been in a new 'Golden Age', for quite a number of years.I'd go as least as far back as the Dredd 'incubus ' story which was quite a while ago.Sorry you dont like Dante Logan but I think it's one of the best things to come out of 2000AD.

The Meg however, contains far too many unrelated articles ,like film reviews-would much prefer if it ditched the extra reprint mag and included more original work inside.

PS Does anyone know if the film rights to Dante have been bought by anyone?

The new pics are great, and Olivia Thirlby looks perfect as Anderson. The only concern for me from the pics though is the distinct lack of any future tech.I can see they have gone for a dark and gritty look, just hope we get to see at least some of the Mega City that we know and love -fingerds crossed.

Fantastic Prog ,cannot think of  enough superlatives for Dredd and Dante.

One question, I know I should have gone to specsavers ,but on the cover what is that piece of metal at the end of the judges arm.I notice he has metal running through his arm, but what is that piece at the top??
Also someone has mentioned there is a Gary Speed tribute in there, as I say Specsavers, please advise where. Thanks

The first Sherman story was indeed a simple plot ,written in the ealy years of Dredd, but still entertaining nonetheless and with some novel ideas for time.Second time around it missed the mark.

Sherman being a judge would have been a more unique adversary to anthing previous (including PJ and any other rogue judge) with lots of scope for an intriging backstory. The potential was there even if you dont see it.An opportunity missed sadly.

Moving along now..............................

I'm afraid Mr Carroll if off my Xmas card list.He took a potentially great character (my namesake) put him in a very shallow plot (which had a lot of holes in it), didn't develop him one iota, had him monologuing when he has the upper hand (like that really funny scene in the Incredibles), then promptly kills him off.Awful and so so lazy.

Not pleased  :(

Suggestions / A 2000ad Event in the North West!!!
30 January, 2012, 07:05:45 PM

With the 35th Anniversary coming up and being held in north wales (?) ,I am just trying to remember any 2000ad event that has been held in the north west of england. Most events seem to be set right down south. When was the last time there was 2000ad event in the north west?

Time for a 2000ad Event in the North West please.

Dredd is just awesome.Even  now, I  love it how it can still throw in little touches like -the robo tracker/bear grylls was just great, and surprises like the judge android assassin.Excellent.

As for Dante , class in a glass is the expression, masterful storytelling.

The rest would, in other years ,perhaps be the centre of attention, but such is the standard now they are a little in the shade which just shows how high the bar has now been set.

I think over a long long long time now the covers have been superb, at such a high standard that when one slips below that ,it really stands out.Luckily for us normal service has been resumed again with the very next prog.

Happy Days  :D
