Just a theory, but maybe they didn't think that it would alienate anyone? I certainly don't feel alienated and can't for the life of me see a reason why anyone else would.

Action speaks louder than words here guys.
Whilst not agreeing with all the work done , Michael was undoubtedly a fine Ambassador for the project, and to react the way they have is beyond pathetic..

#Kowalski is right lets move on...

Michael -
# The impression I get is that this film will be heavy on the gore factor would that be fair?
# The weaponry in the 95 version were ridiculously too big perhaps someone overcompensating -I take it that isnt the case in this movie?
#Do we see a grand view of Mega City One not just in close up?

I dont think these could be classed as spoiler questions. Thanks

As always, I sincerely hope that anyone that feels this way never encounters an actual bully.

Indeed. In fact, the thing that makes me particularly angry about these moaning tossers who whinge about being "bullied" is that there's an ignore function on this forum.

You know what? When I was getting the shit kicked out of me every single day for the first four years I was at comprehensive, I'd have fucking loved to have had a little button I could have clicked and never seen or heard from those bastards again. If you think you're being bullied by anything anyone says to you on an internet forum, you have no fucking idea of the meaning of the word.

Tossers.
Sorry to hear of your experiences Jim but you know the context I was using the word in (the English language being far from perfect). As for using the ignore button, again that defeats the object of having a forum and hearing ALL views, good or bad, agree or disagree with.

PS isnt le tossers the band the Bee Gees used to be in :D

The context you used it in the first place was incorrect because there hasnt been any bullying in this thread but of course these days anyone can start whining that they cant say this or say that on forums if others disagree with you and then claim its bullying.

If you look up the definition of bullying it does not fit anything that has gone on in this thread so far and further to that you have only been on this thread a couple of days which doesnt fit a sustained period of time by any definition for the bullying you are talking about to have happened. The fact that you are outnumbered and myself as well as i have posted some negative comments regarding the cars and buildings again does not constitute a bullying enviroment as its more like a majority rule which is not quite the same thing. It just means you or we are in a minority to those who have positive views on it.

Ultimately no one is stopping you saying what you like and no one is forcing you with coercion to post positive comments.

I get tired of people online who claim that they are bullied if their views are not shared by the majority."They are disagreeing with me and there are lots of them so i am being bullied !!!"

One final point for you to consider is that its not what you say but the attitude with which it is said that is just as important.

Dear oh dear oh dear

Only been temprorarily BARRED from here for negative post ,others have been permanently barred for same and had to come back under new identities (really!).What do you call that , eh?Open forum.
As for 'the right attitude' PLEASE ,somebody call the thought police.

If all views are fair game then you'll have no objection to others criticising bad posts. Posts that come out sounding like a teenage whine cos they aren't making the Dredd film that they want.
Faster than a speeding Wingnut, I'm begining to think you live on here.By the way is that a recent photo of you :D

:| I see the Happy Clappy Brigade -now forever known as HCB (most notably those who have been on here since the dawn of time and with more posts than there are numbers in the known universe) are trying to bully others with a different view -lets see what we have so far -"irrational, negative nancies, haters ,inexperienced newbie"et al .Is this a forum or some commune where all dissent is quashed.
What we've seen so far looks very poor indeed, end of -make all the excuses you want-as for comparing looking at props from a film over 30 years old ..need I say more.I hope the film will be great, but HCB can kiss my ass if they think they can dominte others - Critical Thinkers Unite  ;)(CTU)

Quotewent out and got an old banger to test the theory...- added smoke, special lighting, some interesting camera angles and threw in some cgi just for good measure..still looked like an old banger -how strange and disappointing..

Do you? Did you really?

Yes ,straight after I had dismounted my magical flying dragon and put it back in it's stable.

Took on board some of the comments made -went out and got an old banger to test the theory...- added smoke, special lighting, some interesting camera angles and threw in some cgi just for good measure..still looked like an old banger -how strange and disappointing.. :-*

Still I'm staying  optimistic and happy clappy, maybe adding some titles and sound effects will do the trick.I'll wait for the final product before thinking  anything remotely critical, even though I have an odd feeling it will be too late to change anything by then...-doh!

Michael when I see a single piece of high quality, high spec ,well crafted piece of ANYTHING I will duly doft my cap and sing praise from the rooftops, but as I say, what has been shown (so far) has been the complete opposite.I hope what comes forward in the future ,as you say will reverse my opinion.
Getting the detail right is common sense (although not seen in all films admittedly) and will help the feel of the movie indeed, but overall production values must be at the high end for it to work at all ,esp in sci-fi.Hellboy, as an example had terrific production work which could be seen from the outset.
Granting the mighty John Wagner consultant status is basic common courtesy and should have happened without question in 95, and undoubtedly I'm sure this will help the film enormously.
As for someone annoyingly posting that I'm a 'hater' for voicing an opinion -get a grip -honest and open debate is how ideas are exchanged so chill :)

Some very easily pleased posts on here -over some concrete with some grafitti on it??

Do these guys still stare in amazement when their fridge light comes on -I wonder.

So far seen NOTHING of quality in terms of production.I sincerely hope to eat these words in the near future, but with info at the near zero level :-X I may have a very long wait.I just hope the end product bears no resemblence to what has been shown so far.All the above comes from a lifelong fan (Prog Oner), so hope the powers that be are listening....

Interestingly, (and this is probably the thread for this), a girl at my main base was talking about karl urban the other day, and how much she fancied him. Dredd came up in the conversation, and she said 'but he's only doing the voice for that'. Her boyfriend had told her what it was and that his face wouldnt be shown, and she'd somehow misinterpreted it as being a cgi cartoon, 'as it's from a comic'.
I explained that no, it's a proper film, but that he just wouldnt take his helmet off, and why ('faceless justice', etc). Her response: 'that's stupid. Why employ a gorgeous man like urban if you dont show his face. That's what we go to look at.'
