I really liked that. I could easily have seen that as a Future Shock. Reminds me of the old Alan Moore ones a bit. I would think that's some sort of compliment! Nice job!

US releases of more collections, I'd bet.

Glad you're keeping the Killer Watt one, mate. I've some O'Neill Nemesis here I'd never part with. I sold a Bolland Dredd page maybe two years ago and I've never, ever forgiven myself for being so fucking stupid. You'll really regret it if it means something to you, like you say.

Nemesis was just a different strip once Talbot took over, wasn't it...? Not complaining when I say that. It's like when Dio joined Black Sabbath. Same but different. Keeps it fresh...

What the others said. Lois has never looked so foxy either - How did she end up with Peter, SD agent or no?

I did end up with the unenviable task of designing Peter Griffin's penis for the show once. After much debate with some of the show's upper echelons we came to the conclusion that in order to remain married to Lois for so long Peter was probably, to use a 2000ad euphemism, sporting a number 3 cartridge...

(Although according to the show, Chris is even more... uh... dangerously armed...!)

Thanks Emp. If ever there was the realization there's slim pickings when it comes to worthy female characters in 2000ad who've hosted their own strips, finding someone for Meg was pretty tricky. Haha!

Bit late to the party but Happy 35th Birthday 2000AD from the vicinity of Family Guy's offices.

Great stuff Flint. Dunno how you kept it together. I'd have emptied me bowels in excitement.

Oh dear  :o, Urban sounds like a piss-take of what Dredd should be like ... doing a 'Batman' which in the context of the Batman movies is intended to be a disguise, doesn't work for Dredd, who doesn't need to exaggerate to effect authority, gruff and menace. Doesn't mean the movie won't still be good, of course.

I agree. Batman sounded fucking naff in TDK. I'd never imagined Dredd having a gravelly voice a la Eastwood in all the years I've read the comic. I'd always thought he has to do so much shouting and ordering that his voice should project some fear and order and just watch Heartbreak Ridge with Eastwood to hear how sad he sounds trying to scare people with his growl. No-one would even hear Dredd railing at them with that voice...

Anyway, not that big a deal...

...Jesus Redondo maybe?

I'm still trying to get my head round the awesomeness of those O'neill pages - you're one lucky cat.

I went to a guy's house a while back - he was auditioning to play bass in our band, which didn't happen, but he did have a page of Fabry Slaine on his wall. He nearly got in just on the basis of that alone.

Yeah, Redondo drew some hot girls as well, that's true. Very underrated artist, I always thought. Don't know if his style was a bit too classic for 2000ad but I always really enjoyed his take on Nemesis. And he made Purity hot too...

That's a beauty, Flint. Absolutely fantastic. Loved Gibson's work through this phase of Robo-Hunter. He'd really refined it by then. Dunno if anyone drew hotter girls in 2000ad...

Haha! A well-spent £35 on a trip to London with my older brother Mark eons ago for the first one, James. Bless him, he even came with me up to 2000ad's offices at King's Reach Tower to collect my sad and rejected art samples. I couldn't have been more than 15 at the time...?
