I didn't know Inferno was included in this. I see there's a copy on ebay for £40 but I've seen it sell for a lot less a few times. I don't reckon it would go over £20 on auction, same goes for Ace Trucking, well, maybe £30 for that.

Yeah, a friend of mine asked to buy some of my old UK Marvels and I said he could have a load for free as they weren't in great nick. A few weeks later I went round his house and his kids furniture and doors were covered in them!

I finally bagged a copy of the August '82 Time Out with the classic Bolland Dredd cover. It was squirreled away in a batch of 2000AD Specials and not mentioned in the main listing. It really cheered me up after forgetting to bid on a batch of Valiant Specials that included the wonderful Bolland cover on '80. I've been after that for over 10 years!!

I still reckon it would be cheaper. You only need rough condition and all the progs they are in are ebay fodder even in high grade. £30 would get you the lot. I would really like an Inferno one as well, it only had one cover but a Gibbons classic so good enough.

It would be cheaper and cooler to buy all the progs, cut them out and staple them together. You could have all the covers breaking up the strips and the first one as the cover. Think I might do it myself, reckon I might do it for the Cursed Earth too!!

Classifieds / Re: Tape question

I agree with Scotch tape. The cheaper stuff is a lot cheaper but shreds and is harder to cut and use and is not worth the extra stress. A lot like decent bog roll and the stuff you used to get at school.
Word to the wise; always take the tape off before removing the comic. Scotch is very reusable and the extra time is worth the nightmare of avoiding tape scuff hell.
On a similar tack (!) has anyone broken their back lifting a mag box full of early progs that are bagged and boarded? I was thinking of boarding them all but maybe not worth it?

Lovely copy of the last unpublished violent copy of Action - only 30 printed. Amazing that 'Suicide' is printed three times on the cover!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Action-comic-23rd-Oct-1976-ULTRA-RARE-ISSUE-30-copies-printed-FN-phil-comics-/271876254428?

This has now ended, and the copy fetched a rather nice £2,555...
Never thought it would go as high as that, but in some ways i'm not totally surprised.
One of the good things about these high profile sales, is that it tends to get people rumaging through cupboards, and attic's. Be nice to see some related goodies, and rarities pop up, though no doubt a high price will be attached, now this has made the news...

So, did anyone on here snag this then? ;-)
It's made the news? What, Sky News?
'So Phil, what are you gonna do with the money'?
'Well, Nick, like any sane person I'm gonna buy a nice Spidey 1'

No, I have no idea what Bollo would charge to colour those pages. You tell me. After you've asked him, please ask him how much it would cost to draw (and colour) a Land Raider on the front of my house.
Maybe Brian would be happy to re colour those pages from the goodness of his heart or failing that, mates rates? Although if Rebellion don't know about the amazing extras he did for the later editions I don't really see why he should bother. Research? Indeed!
It's weird to think that the original black cover Titan books may well be the best documents of those strips ever printed.

Are you one of these inter-troll thingies I read about?
No, not at all. A troll finds people on the net and then harasses them in a bullying fashion. I, on the other hand vent my spleen on message boards about things that upset me. Then, ironically, I find that when I do so I get harassed in a bullying fashion, often in a troll like manner. It's happened to me on this board on several occassions. Maybe the word pleb was uncalled for but that is my opinion of people who I believe only care about money and not the product.

It's 2015, it could have been recoloured? They could have asked the artists to do it? We are talking about what is generally regarded as the best story to appear in a comic that has lasted nearly 40 years. How many more times are they going to reprint it without doing the whole thing in its complete form (apart from the banned issues) + the other extras that have been done in later collections. There's no excuse. I would like to see a colour cover, colour splash page them the strip in b/w and then colour cover etc as printed. I would pay £20 for that.

It's a crap job get used to it. They spend more time and money on the later reprints it's embarassing.

It wasn't free to me and hard work done wrong is still wrong. It just smacks of lack of research or corner/cost cutting to me. Those splash pages are some of the best art to ever appear in 2000AD and they look nowhere near as good in bw. Have a look a the original progs, they look stunning. It was probably too much hassle to add the colour pages within the b/w ones. I would have happily paid more. Better luck next time eh?

I won a batch of the Dredd Mega Collection and was impressed by the quality. Mechanismo, full colour, nice! Mandroid..ditto! Cursed Earth, black and white...ok, no problem they were originally, back up strip full colour, right, only some covers in colour...hmmm? WHY THE FUCK ARE THE SPLASH PAGES NOT IN COLOUR!? WTF!!!??
I have waited nearly all my life for a CE reprint with the double pages in colour, especially the Bolland ones. WHY CAN'T THESE PLEBS GET IT RIGHT??
They also haven't bothered with the additional Bolland one pagers from the complete version. Just seems lazy and or uninformed, ask the fans first?
