More proof that DC are determined to move forward rather than constantly revisit past glory.

heh

Good news!

I was bored sh*tless of the Sandman by the Kindly Ones, then really loved Endless Nights.

Would prefer Gaiman to stick up for creator rights, but am not hardline enough to boycott Before Sandman.

I have the first Mega City Undercover (in excellent condition) if anyone wants to make me an offer?

The first few League books were a passing entertainment - thrilling adventure serials with a neat twist and a dark streak. I have literally no idea what Moore is trying to achieve with Century - it's certainly not crafting a compelling story.

Black Dossier is the most explicit as to the purpose of the series, which the early volumes AND Century fit very nicely into. It's a theory of literature.

Moore's far too good a writer for "enjoyable crap", although his more accessible material is (just about) mistakeable for it.

At a push.

This sounds utterly dreadful. Remember when LOEG a pulpy adventure yarn?

Luckily there's always Before Watchmen.

As for
whipping out his knob
that's because the character is a teenage boy, not Alan Moore silly!
Yeah, it's also a pretty funny reference to his "magic wand"!
I really liked Century: 2009, it was a really quite powerful finale. Moore's writing is a little dense compared to earlier volumes, but not to the point where I ever got bored, and man, O'Neil is a great artist.

Roll on volume 4....

Here's the only eagle awards I could turn up at the trademark office

http://www.ipo.gov.uk/domestic?domesticnum=2310221

I don't think that Eagle Award is the comics one.

So, there's nothing to stop me from appropriating the Eagles for my own ends.

I can already see that Massacre For Boys is going to do well at next year's "Eagles"...

This looks great, I'll have to bunker down for one. Any chance of a second issue coming?

Every chance, and an official announcement will be coming within days.

Read my copy last night and really enjoyed it. I'm ashamed of my strip (apart from 1 page) but the rest of the comic more than made up for it. The cover in particular really looks so much better in the flesh.

Heartily recommended.

Thanks Bolt and for the record I love the job you've done on that story, exactly right, imho, and my favourite page is #5!

Quote from: locustsofdeathI've said it before, but what the heck, I'll say it again - that cover is a tremendous piece of art. Every time I see it, I can't help but gawk. Fantastic, that alone ought to see this issue.

I agree, I think it's Steve's best cover to date.

Quote from: ProudhuffGiven the hearty endorsments above, and the fact I've sold some stuff on ebay, My order is now in!!

Indeed, thank you very much and may I complement you on your excellent choices!

I'll get them out to you ASAP.

Thanks Proudhuff  :)

I've now remembered how to update the website, and managed to add the new comic to the shop page. You can see if I did it properly by clicking http://www.massacreforboys.co.uk/

I would be happy to contribute to a Brett Ewins comic. Very happy, in fact.

We're still looking for writers and artists to grace the next issue of Massacre For Boys. Got some good stuff already lined up, but there's still a few slots to fill.
