'I'm incapable of breaking the law because what I say goes'

I read it more like:
'I'm incapable of breaking the law because i follow it too rigidly. AND im Judge Dredd, for fecks sake..!'

Its not that Stallone *said* it wrong, it was just in the wrong place in the script.

Later, when being 'proved' guilty of murder, we get: "I didnt break the law, i AM the law!"
and that works fine imo.

"Unless they are just going of the much younger target audience. (Underfifteen year olds.)"

And therein lies the problem.

'The Making Of Judge Dredd' book mentions that the Dredd film *could* have been made in the late eighties, until RoboCop arrived and stole Dredd's thunder so to speak.
It even claims that the producers of RoboCop apologised to the then producers of Dredd for ripping off so many of their ideas!

As for the DVD, Verhoeven himself admits that they started with a version of Dredd and just kept redesigning till they had RoboCop.
Be very interesting to know exactly how legal that process is/was...

That 2000ad-Rossiter thing is mind-boggling genius!

As for headbutts in the Dredd movie, there was a pretty f*ckin good one in the cinema cut when Mean butted the Jimp.
What do we get on the video version? A close up of Fergie?!?

Load of old bollocks.

And what happened to the clones at the end?
They get woken up - then explode! Whats the purpose in that?

Bigger load of even older bollocks!

Oh yeah, and Pa Angel is Catherine's Dad in CSI (Also by Danny Cannon!)

'Apparently Chow Yun Fat is the new pirate..'

Apparently so.
So in the next film we can expect...

Oriental pirate plot thread,
Will Turner's plot thread,
Elizabeth Swann's plot thread,
Norrington's plot thread,
The evil English guy's plot thread,
Barbossa's plot thread,
Davy Jone's plot thread,
etc..etc..

Bit over complicated by the sounds of it, and possibly even less Jack Sparrow than in the current film.
All just speculation i'll admit, but its still a bit worrying!

Ah well, at least Keith Richards has been confirmed!

Don't get me wrong, i still enjoyed the film alot, definately one of the best of the year for me.
There just wasnt enough Jack Sparrow! And it doesnt look like we'll see much of him in the next one either...

...oh bugger!

Film & TV / Pirates 2: The Spoiler Thread!

Well ive just been to see it, and tbh i don't think its as good as the original.

Its nothing to do with the cg, (Davy Jones and his crew are quite simply the most impressive effects ive seen to date), more to do with an overly complicated story, a running time that feels half an hour too long, and direction that lacks the sheer fun & heart of the original.

Saying that, its still an enjoyable romp and well worth the cost of a cinema ticket.
Just don't expect to leave the cinema shouting 'YEAAARR!' this time!

"I don't want the tax man to put me in a position where my career looks as if it is failing, because it isn't."

There's only *one* reason he'd say something like that.
Can you guess what it is?

Both 'F.E.A.R.' on the PC and 'God of War' on the PS2 have good plotlines.

Am i the only one who thinks the perp looks strangely like Frank Miller himself? And that Dredd's about to kiss him?

If so, what does that say about Frank Miller?!?
