Just up to The Old Straight Track, and everything is just sublime! I'd only ever read the one-off where Luke confronts his bullys before, so this is all new to me.

Can't recommend this book enough, just a shame John Ridgeway wasn't asked to continue the story.

No email, but the book turned up. Somehow I got number 12, so im guessing these have been randomly selected. No way was I the twelfth to place an order!

And yes, the book is absolutely stunning!

My favourite idea is that their badges contain some kind of bluetooth identifying transmitter thingummies.

Don't the badges also contain a small explosive charge, or did I dream that?

1st - Leigh S - Journey to Dinas Emrys. Best piece of work from Leigh yet, IMO. Captures so much of both the Belardinelli and Fabry phases, I love it.
2nd - Mark Higgins - Sláine and Niamh Go Hunting for Truffles. Well, it had to be didn't it? There's no faulting the quality of the artwork here, I'm just not entirely convinced that's Slaine. Probably the hairdo  :)
3rd - James London2 - Mug-Shot or Headbutt. Absolutely spot-on mugshot there. Really great inks.

HMs -
Albion1 - Slough Feg
Damian Edwardson - Sláine
Darren Stephens - Warp Spasm, Massimo Style
Goaty - Warp Spasm
Patrik Lydman - Sláine and Niamh in the Wasteland

And that cover is fantastic! Is this the first time we've seen a Jock Nemesis?

However, I do think Joe will respect Hershey's right to make the big decisions. There'll be no resignation blackmail or silent coups this time.

Agreed. He made it clear in Tour Of Duty that he ain't quitin' no more.
Learned his lesson during Necropolis I imagine  ::)

Yeah, it's all so similar to Kraken that there must be an interesting twist coming.

The speculation starts here!

My suggestion:
Harvey malfunctions and kills someone Dredd actually cares about (like Rico II, Giant III or Beeny ... or even Vienna?) and Dredd goes on the warpath in a battle against Hershey, causing a schism in Justice Department.  In other words, John Wagner does "Civil War", but with more subtlety & class than Marvel/Millar.
Interesting idea.
I reckon
Harvey will eventually see things from Dredd's point of view, due to his heightened empathy with the citizens, and recommend he be decommissioned. Or something.
Pleased to report that the print and bookplate turned up yesterday, in pristine condition.

Was nice to see both appear to be signed, don't really care that they're not numbered.
Haven't got the guts to attempt sticking the bookplate in though. Don't want to muck that up!

Don't suppose there are any Com-X scans I can compare this edition to are they?

Here's a scan of pg 11 - compare with the book. You'll see how much darker the shadows are.

See what you mean. McMahon's scratchy colouring of the shadows is completely lost in the hardback.
As Jim says though, ultimately it's Mick's call. Be nice to hear his opinion on this edition.

Surely its Rebellion who are the publishers?
I just find it a bit odd, as this wasn't published in the prog.

Pretty much all gone Wolly, a handful held for a few folk at the con in Enniskillen, and thank for the kind words!

It deserved to sell out (again), hats off to you!
At least I have the earlier edition, which is still awesome

That said, the hardback is a thing of beauty. Repro droids have done a great job, can't wait to give it a read!

Well the jury is out on that too. Contrast this with the Com-X reprint and the original Epic comics and you'll see what I mean. There's a heavy magenta bias to the Rebellion book which is frankly losing alot of the delicate detail of Mick's work.

I've only ever read one issue of The Last American, and it was an original printing.
Long, long time ago though.
Don't suppose there are any Com-X scans I can compare this edition to are they?

One other note - I noticed the spine has the 2000AD logo on it. Should that really be there? Or have I picked one nit too many?

STILL nothing!  Seriously pissed off now.

Mine was delivered by Royal Mail, so it might be worth calling your local post office to see if its there.

One of the things I deal with at work are missing Royal Mail parcels, and not everyone gets a card through the door. (or their parcel, even when it fits through a letterbox!) Worth a try.

Fingers crossed for you.

..and the colours of the Reeks a lovely hue of greeny blue.

Which is thanks to the mind-bogglingly talented Dylan Teague, who has been expertly colouring the Robinson droids magnificent inks for a while now.
Loving this cover, too. It's fantastic.

Really wish Cliff Robinson would do some work inside the prog again...

Just checked the link, and only Baker's Half Dozen and Doomlord currently showing.  :(

However, I can thoroughly recommend both of them (especially Doomlord) so please buy them.
