The Hundredfold Problem by John Grant was re-written as a non-Dredd novel, I think because the licence to use Dredd had expired.

Ahh, this one - I had heard of it before but don't own a copy (I have the proper Joe Dredd version, but not Dave Knuckle.

I figured being born in the middle East Jesus was neither black or white, although some people seem to define black as 'not white'.

    A big chunk of the prospective audience are Judge Dredd fans and they most certainly will have a clue.

How big a chunk, exactly?  Not sure what the current readership of 2000ad is but I don't think it's a significant proportion of the 650,000 people who bought the dvd or blu-ray.

That shows a few pieces of original art for me (Simon Davis and Mick McMahon) followed by various comics including Doom Patrol, Batman, a Judge Dredd computer game and other stuff.  Is that the one or is this some suggestions for me?

However I have a feeling Dredd himself will definitely be recast. It's been over  7 years since Karl Urban actually filmed the role and I don't believe he would still be enthused to commit to a TV SERIES after all this time.

Well, Urban was one of the first to retweet the announcement on Wednesday, so he's obviously still as much of a fan as the rest of us.

Furthermore I think Rebellion would have dropped this as a hint during their announcement as it would be a huge fan selling point to even just intimate Urban's potential interest at maybe reprising his iconic turn as the character.

It's completely unprofessional for a production company to pretend they've got a big name signed up when they haven't signed contracts yet.  For the very first announcement of a new production company to get caught up in this kind of controversy would sound a death knell before they've even got any backers.  Festivals have similar problems if they announce headline acts who haven't actually signed yet.

One of the original Virgin Dredd novels was republished as a non-Dredd novel some time later, I seem to recall.

Are you thinking about the proposed Doctor Who / Judge Dredd crossover novel?  The deal fell through so it Dave Stone re-wrote it as a pure Doctor Who novel with the IP-infringing elements filed off.

I haven't looked at these in years, but I'm pretty sure I have the Judge Dredd Role Playing Game, plus Judgment Day and Block-Mania (which I think was a separately-playable game) and also the Rogue Trooper game (all from Games Workshop).

there was 2 versions of the novelisation of the Stallone Judge Dredd film from Boxtree, the regular version & the junior novelisation.

Also in 1980 2000ad published the 2000ad space quiz book

Technically the 2000AD Space Quiz Book was published by Mirror Group (no idea how that deal came about).  It sits on my shelf next to my novels, as do my 5 copies of the Titan Books paperback versions of certain JD stories, but that's just because they're the same size as the novels, not because I think of them as novels.
