Now we seem to discover a new planet every day and they have become as numerous and commonplace as the pebbles beneath our feet. I just thought it was worth saying that Science is Drokking Fantastic Because OGLE-2016-BLG-1195Lb is boring.
First exo-planet discovered in 1988, over three and a half thousand discovered since then...

I wish I had the whole 2000ad back catalogue to discover.....Lucky you!

The older you get the worse your memory gets, so you'll be able to rediscover all the stuff you forget!

Welcome to the board, inurn!

I've read that Stallone actually had tons of Dredd comics in his trailer and had done his homework on the character, and was quite serious about the role and willing to portray him as he appeared in the comics (helmet and all), but obviously the powers-that-be (money-men) felt otherwise, and the director (himself a 2000 AD fan) lost control of the film.

The director was Danny Cannon, who had a spoof Dredd movie poster published in the prog about half a decade earlier and is now behind the Gotham TV series.

Not wanting to get mired in the 'comic uniform' versus 'realistic uniform' debate too much, but for those of you who cosplay at conventions, just how bulky are the uniforms you wear?  Do you feel you could run, jump, duck, squat or climb in them?  Leave the weight of the armour out of it for the moment, as with 82 years between the present day and 2099 I'd expect materials science to develop harder but lighter substances.  This question goes out to comic, 2012 and rubber chicken wearers (are there any 1995 cosplayers, I don't recall seeing any photos).

I don't wear them but have plenty of experience of shooting with them both on Minty and ref photos for Dark Justice.

{snip}

We had John Burdis rolling along the floor after Minty comes off the bike - It's not ideal for stunts, but not as bad as the 1995 costume which is more of a single lump.

Thanks Steve - just waiting for the pwls bot to tell us how active he could get in the rubber chicken jimp suit...

In other news - is the TV series out yet, it seems like we've been waiting the two years by now.  Must be soon, right?

Quote from: positronic on 13 May, 2017, 11:24:21 AMThis is a very interesting thread topic. I had no idea there were so many!

I have quite a few but didn't realise how many I didn't have!

QuoteI'd just started reading the A.B.C. Warriors: The Medusa War novel by Pat Mills & Alan Mitchell published by Black Flame.

Flipping through the book at the back pages, I saw that it mentioned "The war will continue in Book Two: Rage Against the Machines", but I had no idea that a sequel was actually ever published (they fooled me by thinking it would again be authored by Mills & Alan Mitchell, or at least the latter on his own). I'll have to look for that one now.

The second one is by Mike Wild and I can confirm that Rage Against the Machines did come out, as I have a copy sitting on my bookshelf!

I'll also throw this up.  I've got the original three printed novels, but it might be of interest to someone?  The 'I Am The Law' omnibus...

Collects : Dredd vs Death, Bad Moon Rising and Black Atlantic (the first three Black Flame novels).

I had two out of the three in that, though I have a similar collection (received as a birthday present) with Karl Urban's face looking out and collecting Dredd Vs Death, Kingdom of the Blind and The Final Cut.

Mentioned upthread, for Year One there were two ebooks published previously, then one more that made its debut in the print collection.  As well as the Year Two book, I'm hoping for something similar with the two Anderson ebooks published so far.

Favourite thread ever (at the moment, except for that one).

I feel a spreadsheet coming on...

p.s. I do really like the wall judge at the beginning of 1995, and the Judge Hunters / SJS.

I'd love to see something like Graveyard Shift, just Dredd and co. handling calls nonstop for an episode. Then he briefly goes in the sleep machine, and goes right back out onto the streets. Wouldn't be the first episode, but it'd be cool to see somewhere in there.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but I'd love to see Judge Death! But that feels like a season 2 kind of thing, not that I'd complain if he showed up early. And I'd enjoy it if his first appearance is just one or two episodes, kind of like how it was a relatively brief story in the comics. And may not appear again for a year or two.

Wasn't it the plan to leave Judge Death to the second Dredd 2012 film?  And I'm sure I've read somewhere in the past 22 years that there was a similar plan for the Judge Dredd 1995 film.  Seems like if you want to include Dark Judges then put them in from the beginning :-)

Subscribed, nice, bite-sized chunks, may watch/listen to a few in my lunch hour at work next week.

Aw, cheers, dude!

Just to forewarn you, if you're going to be watching at work: while I take pains not to stray into NSFW territory with the videos, I do run my potty mouth on the videos under the 'When Are You Gonna Stop Watching Those Cartoons?!' banner.

Once the title card changes over to 'HdE Does Anime,' we're in less offensive territory, just so as you know.

Thanks for the warning, but no problem - any youtubing during my lunch hour is with earphones in!

You've got me wanting to watch Judge Minty to see if there's any hidden references in it now!
