The Mean Arena reboot was pretty forgettable (sorry, creators involved) - so much so that I was surprised to read there had been a reboot (though when I saw some covers I remembered it had existed, though hadn't registered in long-term storage that it was the 'rena).  Also I genuinely liked Zippy Couriers so there's no hesitation on my part.

Regarding the possibility of Hilary working with Rebellion - I don't have insider knowledge or anything, but Hilary was due to attend the 40th anniversary, next to Nigel Dobbyn's table - I seem to recall that Hilary had to cancel due to illness though.

This is one of those tricky ones - 86ers is good, but I've got a soft spot for some of the Robo-Tales.

Just for the record - this is the line-up of Legends of the Law stories, as originally published by DC.

First two stories are being reprinted in 2022.

Issues 1 - 4: The Blood Donors (John Wagner, Alan Grant / Brent Eric Anderson, Jimmy Palmiotti)
Issues 5 - 7: Trial by Gunfire (Daniel G Chichester / Anthony Williams, Andy Lanning)

Following stories will be reprinted at a future date (presumably, based on sales of the first volume).

Issues 8 - 10: Fall From Grace (John Byrne / Bob Pinaha, Gary Martin)
Issues 11 - 13: Dredd of Knight (Pat McGreal / Nigel Dobbyn, Barbara Kaalberg)

As for the actual stories - I think when IDW had a busy (2000AD-related) release schedule I probably said something along the lines of the main monthly title reminding me of the DC Dredd series (i.e. the writers don't really get Dredd, and the art doesn't really suit either) while the mini-series (often utilising script and art droids) were much more on-point, many of them conceivably passing for main Dredd continuity.

One problem I see in many professions is that people who are trained, skilled, experienced and know what they're doing aren't valued, so if they want to get a pay rise they get pushed in to management.  Management is not the thing that they're good at, but there's nowhere else for them to go (and many places have a work culture that you're constantly supposed to be aiming for promotion and 'improvement', rather than just concentrating on doing what you're already doing well).  So we end up with layers of middle management who are potentially good at whatever their job is except with no people skills.

I don't buy digital comics, though the few I have (from promos and other freebies) I read on my computer - I find it a pain to read portrait pages on a landscape monitor, but have a second monitor on a swivel arm - 27inch, 1920 x 1080 resolution - much better!

Incidentally, it's pitifully easy to create your own cbz files - take a zip file filled with images - rename it from *.zip to *.cbz - that's it, done!  Other types of compression are also available (cbr is for rar files, for example).

This near to the end of the year I'll bet the honeymoon seems like something that happened an age ago - but you have to start off the next series with a brief run-down of how it went - did you visit many distilleries?  Or is that just something that the Irregulars would do while in Scotland?

Like, Agent Rat is ther hero of my favourite ever Future Shock - but his adventures after that were pretty average. 3rillers are a proper mixed bag but the best ones are really very good. Gotta be 3harg's 3rillers, it seems.

Adventures after that?  There was only one!

Tricky to compare a series which ended up comprising two stories with a total of three episodes with an ongoing series which comprises around thirty stories of three episodes each.

On the basis that I'm a sucker for treehouses, I'm going for Agent Rat.

Can't imagine how you're feeling right now, take care of yourself and accept any others of support.

Also - isn't it (John) Wagner who keeps naming their characters John, Johnny, Joe or some variant?

What seems very much like a "bomb scare" style threat has been circulating on TikTok that suggests there will be some kind of violent assault in a US school today (the 17th), so (across the entire country) many schools are cancelling classes - many students are anyway staying home.

I'm guessing it was a hoax?

Hunted for me, please.

Armageddon - I seem to remember it wasn't even supposed to be a Dreddworld story originally, but it was tweaked a bit.  I could be wrong there though.

I think you're thinking of Al's Baby, which was turned in to a Dreddworld strip by adding a page at the start.  Seem to recall it was originally intended for Toxic! but wasn't accepted for that publication.

A games company branching out into comics? It'll never work.

Now somebody else done this, now who was it.... on the tip o my tongue...nope gone.

Resistance?  Contrary?  Something like that.

Hershey - though what would the previous Hershey stories show as in this contest?  The ones from the time before Chief Judgeship?
