The HP Lovecraft Societies Christmas Carols are the go to Christmas music in our house and have been for years now https://soundcloud.com/user-399666829/oh-cthulhu

My favourite's The Carol of the Olde Ones - though I think they've done two or three album's worth now, so really should get up to date :)

As a nipper the annuals were definitely a Christmas highlight.  I think we forget how many there were at times.  Some of the ads in the progs around the 80's give some sense.

I covered the full line-up from one of the ads in my prog slog.

If it was just War Machine then I'd vote Fr1day, but I've always had a soft spot for Dinosty* and the seemingly endless follow ups drag WM down!

* I like Clint's computer work but much prefer the painted stuff.

The Tory Christmas Party story keeps writing itself more chapters - as Simon Case (the man given the job of investigating whether parties happened) has discovered that he himself hosted one.

Top civil servant Simon Case set to quit No 10 party probe amid rule breach claims

The difficulty now is finding anyone in government who wasn't at a Xmas party a year ago.

It's lucky that Case is heading that probe - how would they have known what parties they attended last christmas otherwise?

Friend request sent to Tomwe - Barrington and anybody else who'd like to add me, I'm 8282 2872 3093 - name will be obvious!

I work halfway between two gyms and can get to either of them without leaving my building, so that's how I spend my lunch hours as there's not much else to do!  One of the gyms sees a lot of competition (changes multiple times per hour on a typical day) while the other one can sometimes go overnight.

Both Marvel and DC have done similar 'all your favourite characters are zombies' events (think the events in question were called Marvel Zombies and UndeaDC or something like that). So is this going to be a familiar and probably entertaining Rebellion version, or are we going to see something different?  In-continuity springs to mind - like the bit at the end of City of the Damned with zombie Dredd, but with all the characters?

No you're not, Tips - it was extremely funny to watch. I may even change my name to The Legendary Wile E. Coyote!

I didn't want to say, but as the events unfolded it did feel like I was reading the script of a cartoon :)

(get well soon)

(Is nobody in this Forest open to just talking it out?

It's the Forest of Doom, not the Forest of - uh, something clever and witty which encapsulates communication and rhymes with doom.

Shadows for much the same reason as AlexF disliked Bonjo - though it stands in its own right too!  Luckily we have a better version of what Bonjo could have been in Dash Decent!

Scorpion Swamp had clearings that you could revisit (similar to the room in Zagor's Maze where it asks whether you've been there before).

I've not seen Network, though it's seeming that this would be a good guide to becoming a deluded, close-minded bigot:
1) watch Network, Fight Club and The Matrix
2) completely misunderstand what they're about
3) endlessly quote them from that point onwards

We're well behind - only just 'finished' Warlock tonight and I really want to catch up as Forest is one of my favourites.

So, we'd done the first half properly, playing the stats we rolled and carrying out all the fights, one die roll at a time.  As mentioned above, we got killed by zombies, so we did it all again.  On the second stab we went a different route from the goblinoid section to the river, but still ended up getting killed by the zombies, so ditched the pure method and just read through it.  After going around and around the maze (most recently while having coffee and cake while out shopping) I decided enough was enough and I backtracked along Funt Solo's nodemap to one of the crossroads we'd visited most times and then played from there, not fighting the fights and just going through the choices.  Not that that helped us as we'd only
fought the minotaur
and not the
cyclops
so had no hope of getting to 400 either way!

I've held off reading everybody's write-ups of Citadel, so we'll have a quick stab at that (playing by the rules) and (if we don't get to the end) we'll carry on at our first death so we can get on to Forest asap...
