Books & Comics / Re: Cla$$war hardcover trade

'Out of curiosity what style has Mike 'The Chameleon' McMahon chosen to use for the poster.'

It's typically McMahon. Insane and fecking brilliant. Kind of Last American-ish.

'Also intrigued by your earlier entry:"The story I'm currently writing for 2000AD, The Grievous Journey Of Ichabod Azreal (And The Dead Left In His Wake), is, as I've previously mentioned, a supernatural western".

Has this been allocated an artist yet or are you still writing it?'

Still writing it. I've done five of 12 so far, so won't be in the prog for a while.

And yes, Jesse James was an amazing movie.

Books & Comics / Cla$$war hardcover trade

Blatant pluggery alert. The Cla$$war hardcover is imminent and it features much Tooth-related loveliness:

An introduction by Andy Diggle
Three issues and a brand new eight page story by Trev Hairsine
Posters by Mick McMahon and Ben Oliver

Looks very lovely, this:

If it wasn't for Christmas I'd not be selling it. Shame.

It shuts at 5.30. This is all a big conspiracy organised by Image's giant head.

Krombasher. It's definitely not just a job. I don't think anyone involved in comics is here for the money. If I'd purely stuck with journalism or video production I'd have made more money. We're all here because we love comics - more fool us ;)

Not Russell Brand either. Ick. No.

Writing's always what I've done, from an early age. Although I wouldn't claim to be one of the types who runs to a keyboard each morning shouting "I MUST write, it is my lifeblood etc". I need deadlines. I need professional work to get me off my arse. But I am passionate about my comics work in a way that I'm not about my journalism work, which can be 'just a job'. I put a lot of thought and emotional involvement into my comics work.

Uh... who said anything about free?

Wake. Thanks for doing that. With the chat room, I can't see the chat area for some reason (do I need some kind of Java or something?).

Could you set /icon opus for me?

Bongo Jack. Don't get the wrong idea. I like a lot of my work too. I do see the flaws though and try and work on them. It's mostly mental notes. Although I've been meaning for a while to write out several golden rules that must be followed before I even start a project and pin them on my notice board on post-its. Idiot-proof guidelines to help my occasional inner mental idiot.

James Werndy. Yes I would. But he would die horribly and there would be an important message contained therein.

TordelBack. 1) Is there a Wyl Tarson figure? Bugger me, there is (just had a loook). Didn't know that. What's that for then? Some kind of Heroclix thing? Is there a Janek Sunber and a Darca Nyl one by any chance? Might have to get one of them. Sad, I know. And no, they didn't send me one. The black rebel commando jumpsuits were my suggestion but Brandon Badeaux drew them.

2) Can't see me pitching a Family 2 at the moment. But never say never. Ask Tharg.

3) I have the ten-seconders third series planned in my grey thought box but haven't actually pitched it yet, I'll admit. Should get round to that. Tharg has to like it first though.

Art. Love BPRD. One of the best comics around and Davis is a bit of a genius. His monster designs are weirdly unnerving. Great storyteller too.

UKdane. An original graphic novel of one of my 2000AD stories? Cor, good question. Probably Aimee Nixon. And it'd be fun to do it with a US-market artist to give it an entirely different feel to mark it out as a different format. Let's say Guy Davis.
