Got these off Thomas and PJ in Omagh, witty fun, and I can confirm, kids (well my 8 year old) really enjoyed it!

That Kurosawa box set is great.

So last Saturday I took a trip dawn south to see a personal favorite of mine in what could be a once in a life time screening considering the legal madness the franchise is trapped in in the West.

So yeah, Macross Plus is the most under appreciated piece of science fiction to come out of the last 50 years. It's a superb meta narrative on the Macross franchise as a whole up to the point, a startlingly frank discussion on the dangers of yet inevitability of transhumanism, and just look and sounds gorgeous. This was an OVA/Movie that seriously benefited from being seen on the big screen, and as a last hurrah until Harmony Gold vanishes up it's own arse and relinquishes the life long rights, it damn near brought a tear to my eye.

Hutus and fucking Tutsis, man.

Aye, tribalism. I was playing Alternative Ulster by the Stiff Little Fingers one time and my neighbor, who'd always been pleasant and up for a chat and a bit of drink, suddenly turned weird and starting ranting "No! No alternative! Never!" like he'd been possessed by the spirit of Ian Paisley. (Although I have no idea which variant he was: he just had a similar accent to Paisley.)

He calmed down when Closed Groove came on. I think it's really sending the same message, but is perhaps less clear.
Another non-Wagner Dredd I loved was Gordon Rennie's first Planet Gary story.  Gordon absolutely nailed the terse but more human older Dredd that Wagner had been working on for years.

Any mention of Scorcese reminds me how thrilled I was by the trailer for The Irishman.

As was I.

Looking forward to it very much.

Me three.  Between this and Joker it's looking like a good autumn in the cinemas.

Worth a shot I suppose.  I tried some a while ago; I must say the biggest buzz was the utterly beautiful Russian model* putting it on my tongue**.

** Don't. You're better than that.

Just the English..?

There's a section of the green and pleasant land that just feels better being ruled by Downton Abbey.

Speaking as a Mick who's half English by blood, I must say that's one aspect of English politics that's always baffled me.  Why does every PM have to be posh?

Not that the likes of our barely-coherent Bertie are much better, mind you.

Making decent progress with Mongrol but the arms gave me a a lot of trouble (tried out various different versions but this one seemed the least annoying).  Power couplings to be added to the arms but I’m still not sure whether to round off the from of Mongrol’s head (doable but a minor headache; small changes usually involve far more work than you think they will).

There’s ample fodder for a caption competition with this stuff…

I didn't feel a description was needed! A superb boxset from Kurosawa and some deliriously lovely French New Wave stuff no one will give a toss about!

Also picked up a few other things but just couldn't be arsed today, looooong 48 hours.
