It's probably more down to changing musical tastes than anything, I would of thought. For example Sheryl Crow's last album was a lovely piece of work-but guess what? It didn't have any obvious radio friendly songs, so it was cruelly over looked. Madonna has made some great albums, but it seemed she was running out of creative idea's well before the bond theme.
As for Cornell. Audioslave are pretty huge and sell out shows, so I Don't think he's got much to worry about, yet.

That's not always the case, thoughâ??Moby's career went mental after he did the Bond theme.

You do know that's not a good thing though, right?

"For example Sheryl Crow's last album was a lovely piece of work"

Untrue - the album still contained far too much Sheryl Crow content than is morally acceptible.

LARF

yeh, but Sheryl Crow is a lovely piece of work and she's left Lance Armstrong... who cares about the music when you can watch the video.

But she also used to screw Eric Clapton and Jack Nicholson. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't go within a hundred yards of the woman...

I take it that's an educated opinion, then? ;)

And besides, I'd rather listen to someone with talent and ability(ragardless of what you may think of her musically)than the talentless pop idol fucksticks, wanna be emo/punk bands and derivative Coldplay copyists that clog up the radio with their dross.
