It's funny, but I used to feel exactly the same way. I hated the character and the original stories and couldn't understand why Wagner kept returning to him. However, I've really enjoyed the series that have appeared over the last few years and rather like the character now. I'm enjoying the irony that he's a pretty good mayor and Dredd actually has some time for him.
