I always love to see how other artists work. With that in mind, I've thrown down my method for a 'Wolverine Vs. Venom' piece I recently completed up over at my blog. Please feel free to take a peek and LMK if you find any other good 'how I do it' type blog entries that I've not yet seen!

go on. I DARE you!  ;)

Cheers,

Nice one G Q, I always like to how artists put there work together.

It's all right, that's in every contract.
That's what they call a sanity clause.
You can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause.

Cracking stuff.

Hard to believe you start off on such a tiny scale.

On an earlier page, I also spotted a nice Spidey with some really detailed web. I'd never seen that before.
Be excellent to each other. And party on!

Pete Wells

That GQ, is brilliant. I really do hope we see you in the prog soon.

Zarjazzer

Fascinating to see how it builds up. Is that Extinction Hunter (looks epic) coming out soon?

(nice page there by GQ as shown by Pete Wells -cheers).
The Justice department has a good re-education programme-it's called five to ten in the cubes.

Ex Hunter is set for the NEXT Futurequake (spring 2010) and its a great little six pager. I'm working on the COVER for it as we speak. As soon as Bolt-1 and FQ central approve the rough, I'll pencil it up and it'll be on the blog.

In the interim, that Judge Dredd page above will be out in the next Zarjaz, Methinks.

Cheers,
GQ

Food for thought, good stuff Mr Quarter. I kinda do the same with thumbnails to pencils, but it's interesting to see how your method varies within that part of the process. Thanks for sharing :)

Mike Gloady

Hmmmmm, now I've had a serious project to get my toes wet in digital art (or indeed ANY art after god knows how many yearss) I'm finding so much more than just intellectual curiousity in these things.  Thanks for sharing, you're a massive help.

Very interesting seeing your work process GQ. Reinforces that it's wise to get composition etc right before jumping in and drawing the details, as I do only too often. I get the impression that you're not really into inking, but I really like your embellishing style.

Bolt-01

GQ is correct. Extinction Hunter is going to be the lead strip in FQ15, next year, and that is a page from the Pitchfest favourite 'Father figure', finally ready to see the light of day in Zarjaz 09.
