Emperor

George Coleman - most improved droid not to reappear in the prog after his upgrade (Alex Ronald might fit in here too although see my argument above).

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

Carl Critchlow gets my vote. I've long been a fan of his stuff on Lobster Random and Dredd so imagine my suprise when I saw his early work on Nemesis. Great scott he looked like some kind of Bisely whannabe. Massive, huge improvement. Can't even fathom the transition period.

Coleby I've always liked. I think he's just tightening up. Hope I see him all over Batman and those other Big 2 books soon.

PJ Holden is fascinating. He's always been a good artist, but I don't know, recently there just seems like there is more power or soul or hhmm at a loss to put my finger on it. All I know is the work he did for Ennis is some of his best yet.

PS Mcmahon is still fantastic, brendan1. He just never stops evolving.

Emperor

Ben Willsher for the reasons I describe here:

I imagine we'll see him further hone his skills over the next few years and get even better still.

That's it exactly - there's just something indefinable but extra in there.  Confidence to play with new styles on top of his own, maybe?
