Pat Mills - Requiem Vampire Knight.

I've yet to read any of those. I like the weird beautiful cover art though.

I quite enjoyed his first Marshall Law collection too. When I saw it at the library, I'll admit my first thought was 'Judge Dredd rip-off'. (With a name like 'Marshall Law', can you blame me?) On reading it though I saw it was actually more of an anti-superhero yarn, and the similarity of the character to Dredd is only superficial.  (I.e. they're both tough, driven men and law enforcers but one is all about upholding and enforcing the law. Ain't nothing personal. The other seems driven by hate, if anything, albeit he isn't all evil and he certainly has his reasons, but it's all personal.) Quite edgy and interesting. It would have made a good 2000 AD series actually.

I haven't read any more of the series, apart from a short prose novella which was a bit pants. Mills has his moments as a comic writer, but I wasn't keen on his writing style at all. To be fair the plot wasn't too bad.
