we do this with my parents.
saves on postage for all.

i ask them what they want.my mother buys for my father. and vica versa then after we send each other the difference in costs.

though i must say. i like the surprise thing on christmas day. so i send tehm a gift each as well. addtional.
which of course makes no sense. but it is christmas.
