Any tips on free software to make pdfs?

I have a large document I want to make into a PDF file. Does anyone have any suggestions of free pdf software I can get hold of that's useful?

when printing the doc do you have the option to save it as a PDF?

I used to use Cute PDF, a search on the net will probably find it for you.  Always worked okay for me.
