Bat King

This is a webcomic by one young lady. Script art and lettering by Deena Mohamed, a 20 year old Egyptian student.

The themes are cultural and drawn from life experiences but not autobiographical. Religion and culture are at the centre of this with the main character being a super-powered hijab wearing young lady. The main thrust is the position of women in modern Cairo.

I found the stories to be interesting and evocative. They aren't preachy but the ideals of the writer are in the narrative.

There are at present 5 parts published online in English, three in Arabic if you prefer.
