Not being English, I can`t be sure, but I think so...(having heard some `Essex girl` jokes)

well theres a district border 5 miles from here, prolly half mile as crow flies, i'ts pretty funky... i mean its pretty, with a huge waterfall n stuff, but if youre on the other side; you can get housing: a rich variety of adult education & community learning stuff; all sorts of culture stuff & music & arts; but no support of businesses whatsoever... whereas This side, no housing & the schools are terrible, But theres masses of enterprise grants & support. bizarre huh?

I like the border between Newport Pagnell and Milton Keynes, because it means I don't have to say "I'm from Milton Keynes" and say the slightly-less laughable "I'm from just outside Milton Keynes"...

how about the border between england and wales - compleetely imaginery but on one side council tax is like ?200 and everything is cheap or everyone is living on welfare (although no one will spend any money, there was a massive protest in a local town when they made the only cash machine one dispenses ?10 notes only, all the council officials said it was a conspiracy to make them spend more money - they had to put ?5 notes back in the end)

on the other side of this imaginary border, everyone gets screwed, council tax is about ?1000 a year, rates and water are nearly doubled, house prices are thru the roof and the average price of a coffe is ?3??

I nominate the borders of Wyoming.

Bet defining Wyoming took some thinking about.

Or just a ruler.

I nominate the Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland border for the fun games of "border checkpoints", "guard tower", "gun smuggling", and many other terrorist activity going on right in our back gardens. As George Bush said to Gerry dams, "im fighting a war against ALL terrorism, so clean your fucking act up!"

what border checkpoints???

u can buy a gun just as easily (and possibly cheaper) on the border between certain large northern cities and the rest of the country

Valhalla

Did judgerussell say "Gerry Dams"?

I nominate the border... around Tamworth! the poor things has been messed with soo many times over the last few centuries its lost it's identity! is it the border between derbyshire and staffordshire? or leicestershire? or warwickshire? in one corner, its all four..... I give you... The Schizophrenic Border! nearly as bad as the one around Berwick upon Tweed.... poor thing..
