Marvellous! So having flogged us the original versions on video, then the fiddled-about-with versions on video, George Lucas is now going to dangle the fiddled-about-with-with-added stuff-previously-not-considered-good-enough-to-be-shown versions before our slavering pavlovian maws, before he fiddles with them further and flogs them to us once more in 2006. 1977 seems a very long time ago.

Expect I'll get Episode III on VHS to go with the others I've got.

Doubt I'll splash out for any new boxsets etc.

I can't be bothered typing in the post from the other Star Wars thread in again. Let's decide which thread becomes the official "Slag off SW thread", or just not bother talking about it all together.

What he should have done is provided two-disc sets per film, containing both the original and the newer cut - either that or a box-set like the new Alien one. It could have contained seven discs - two versions of each film and the extras. *And* they'd have made more money, which is all they're about anyway.
