hahahaha.

nice one tps. i kinda guessed you would...it's a strip that you either loved or hated. it had no place in tooth, except for a slight sci-fi angle, and was rather glib and overly flippant, but it was...in a way...funny, and i love phil bond's art.

it was garth ennis, wasn't it? an early effort...bet he hates it too.....

Your mileage may vary

J-Bo-1

"its probably wasted with the bods at rebellion.."

Oh, please do clarify this one.

J-Bod-@-Rebellion-1

O Lucky Stevie!

yes... 2000ad in an ursula k. le guin stylee. loved it!
"We'll send all these nasty words to Aunt Jane. Don't you think that would be fun?"

Steamboy

I've got a most of this in some back issues and I quite liked it but unfortunatly i seem to be missing a couple of key progs, so add another one to the yes reprint sode of the equation...nowt wrong with Finn either, nice long epic stories even if he was just a modern Slain, there's an idea they're both Mills characters oi Tharg how bout it...

HELLO tordelbach
welcome to the webs finest site.
come often and have fun.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Tordelbach

Lenfant terrible has it right - it was the Le Guin "Ekumen" angle that really hooked me, that and glorious colouring.

Thanks to all for mutterings of welcome.  In different incarnations I've dropped in and out of the board before, but I was always more firmly an a.c.2000ad afficiniado until work circumstances tore me away, and then recently gave me the opportunity to waste some time in here instead...

Well for a start it was printed in glorious COLOUR..notice how all the EE's are on cheapo B&w?

>Firekind is one of 2k's hidden gems..defo more deserving of a reprint than tosh like Ant Wars

Thought it pish myself and would rather see reprints of Ant Wars, like I always say it the diversety that keep this place going.

Lyrical, clever, tragic, with the best art Paul Marshall ever produced, and DRAGONS.

What's not to like?

Oh, and that line near the end (which may be misspelled):

S
P
O
I
L
E
R

"The Hronoth rising.  The Hronoth risen."

Which by itself may not look that great, but combined with the art of the great mountainous god-like entity risen like the Aztec's worst nightmares above the forests... it's one of the 2000AD highlights of all time.

Feeling really nostalgic now.  Anyone got a copy they fancy selling?  (Got nothing to swap for)

"Well for a start it was printed in glorious COLOUR..notice how all the EE's are on cheapo B&w?"

Well, apart from EE1.

...and EE2.

...and EE5.

;-)
