I think it's been suggested before, and done right, that kind of free-roaming "You be the JUDGE!" game would be pretty neat.

A Mega City to roam around, with all of the opportunities for mental crimes & Judging, tied into a larger mission-based structure would be a fecking great game.

Satanist

Yes. I have to admit to thinking this would be great every time I plat GTA. Driving about on a Lawmaster bustin perps heads, chasin Judge Death.

Mmmmmmmmm!!!
Hmm, just pretend I wrote something witty eh?

Mikey

Grudammit yes.

It *has* to be done.Right after a Tomb Raider style Slaine game...

I'm Playing XIII at the mo(enjoying it too)-any other votes for the old ell shading for any toothy games?

M.
To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

Noisybast

A fine idea. You could always make it yourself. The PC version of GTA is moddable & there's downloadable tools freely available on the net. Change the cops to Judges, "Meg up" the buildings, replace the vehicles with more futuristic versions, and you're on your way.

'Course, this is coming from someone who's had a Strontium Dog mod in development hell for aeons, so it's probably best if you don't pay too much attention...

Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

WoD

This could be a very cool game.

Talking of Mods....

Are there any good (and possibly played) 2000ad mods out there for Half Life or Quake 3, etc?  And did the DvD game get it self any mod following at all?

therev

Or what about Doom 3???

Al_Ewing

I hear tell Spiderman 2 is a bit like this - roaming around stopping crimes - but it's not very satisfying in the long run because you're just stopping the same crimes endlessly...
Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

Endjinn

But Spiderman a) doesn't have a cool bike and b) doesn't get to hi-ex.

The Amstor Computer

...Which is why you need a decent selection of crimes to stop, as well as some more linear storyline to follow.

Noisybast

There's Judgement for Half Life, which was OK, if a bit limited.

...or, of course, < ahem > there's my temporarily-on-hiatus Strontium Dog mod, for Unreal Tournament 2004, which I'm due to resume work on very soon (ie as soon as my final project's been handed in at uni). It'll be great when it's done, honest!

Noisy - when you finish it - I will buy UT2004, so it had better be good.

Noisybast

By the time I finish it, I think UT2048 might be out on budget...

Noisy, not seen that for a while, it's coming along nicely.
