One for The Mighty pouty-trouty and any other lovers of Jockdom, comics, whisky...

The Wigtown Literary Festival (17-26 Sept) is showning a series of Film Noir fillums during its tenure, these include: The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep and THE BOGIE MAN (1992)!

The added bonus for us comic types is that Alan Grant  (and the producer Andy Park) will discuss the inspiration for the GN/fillum after the showing on Friday 24th. The movie kicks off @ 7.30pm at the Bladnoch Distillery, where the bar is open to filmgoers before and after the screening!!

and there will be signed copies of the GN for sale.

Go for it!

The film's shite, apparently, but the GN's very nice indeed.

Be aware a collected GN of many Bogie comics may be on the cards, too, but not for a good while.

The only (and few) funny bits in the film are copied straight from the comic, and they weren't even going to be in the film until someone sensibly insisted they be put back in. Which says a lot.
