Here you go with pics from Pendragon Pictures rival version to Speilbergs.
No sign of the Martians yet but seems pretty authentic - the time period, hiding in the river from the Heat Ray, Woking railway station being evacuated:

this must be lower budget version in comparative terms to the other one.  if it is out first it may well do well.likely it will not get het full big budget marketing stevie boys will.

looks very true to the novel.going by the pics offered here.

worth the ticket price i would suggest.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

Mangamax

Yeah, its exactly that - kinda like the two horse Robin Hood race. This is the Patrick Bergin one.
There's some speculation as to what Spielberg is gonna call his now

I know it's impossible to tell from photos, but this, surprisingly, actually looks... quite good?
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Martin Jameson

chimpanzor

Looks like just a lot of old fahsioned people sitting or standing, sometimes waving their hands, or looking befuddled.

House of Usher

Looks nice. I'm rather looking forward to this.

Heh. I notice there are no Martians in the movie stills. I don't suppose they'd been added when these were printed.

"H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds".

I suppose Spielberg will just have leave the author's name out of his title, then.
STRIKE !!!

Is Patricj Bergin actually in it? I'll have to ask my friend, because his dad has been mates with Bergin for years.

Art

Cool. It all sounds a bit weird and nutty though. And is it really possible t make a film in secret these days?

Mangamax

Er, no.
I meant Patrick Bergin version as this WOTW is the cheaper, less star-studded one same as Begins was to Costners Robin Hood

The "we could have had real stars if we wanted to but decided we were better off without them" bit sounds a bit Pat Mills.

Quirkafleeg

It all looks a bit "Sunday Afternoon Classic Serial"...
