Agreed.

It's hard to drink me under the table, though.

I'm Scottish, fat and a journalist.

Beers ahoy!

Yay. Just got a job (short term) so now I can come. Have booked my flights and am now figuring out where to stay and how to get to Oxford from Luton but more importantly, how many people do I owe a pint to and what am I going to pitch.

Don't you owe me about five? (I have written evidence)

Tips,

There is a bus that connects Oxford and Cambridge, via Milton Keynes, but I'm not sure if that is a good choice.  There is also some info about it http://www.earth.ox.ac.uk/~richardp/Luton.html">here

The train route you would take would be:

Shuttle Bus to Luton Parkway
Train to St Pancras
Tube to Paddington
Train to Oxford.

This is because they are digging up Kings X at the moment, and trains are doing weird things

The Train to Oxford could be replaced by a Bus, by going to Victoria on the Tube.

Cheers - I'm actually sorting out the bus stuff just now. It does seem a bit silly that there seems to be no simple way to get from LUTON to OXFORD but I'm sure I'll find one.

Any pointers, folks, on how to get to Oxford from Gatwick?

- Trout

Bad Andy

An easy way to me seems to be get the Gatwick express to Victoria and catch the Oxford Tube (actually a bus). They go every 12 minutes or so so they are quite frequent.

I think you can get it from out the front of Victoria station too.

Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Dan Kelly

From Gatwick you can get a train direct to Reading and the a quick train Reading to Oxford.

Not sure about price vs. Express tho'

Trout

Thanks!

Will look into those.

5 ! kingsize mars bars ?!  blimey ! swooon.

Tweak72

Well if your interested this brilliant way of measuring excitement take one young child (ask parents permission first) and feed them 1 king size mars bar at a time noting how exited they get after each one the thresh hold is 5 king sized mars bars as they tend to be sick after no. 5 (go on try it your self it is a fun and fairly cheap form of entertainment as well as a form measurement but better to have the parents involved as they will have to clean up if they where involved) Grandparents as you have been playing this game for years let us know of what other variations you know)
