looking thru comics international, i see how supermans sales have jumped from 45k to 120k all because of jim lee drawing the comic.
would it be a good idea for rebellion to try and get jim lee to draw a dredd story for a few weeks?
he is and excellent artist,im sure he would do an excellent dredd.would this lead to more sales in the states and in the u.k.?in the uk it may bring in superhero fans who generally dont read 2000ad.in the states it would give great exposure to 2000ad, and bring in the comic fan from the states, most of whom dont know of 2000ad at all.
probably would cost a fortune to get the likes of lee to do a story, but increased sales i think , would well cover it.
waht do you lot think?

Bolt-01

Given the deal with the tpb's this might have some legs.

If DC announced a Story to be drawn by Jim Lee, that would ONLY run in 2000ad prior to being part of a collection it would raise the profile of the comic immensely.

Unfortunately I don't lnow enough about the american market anymore to determine whether there are any other creators out there I'd like to see.

Anyone for John Byrne's Synammon?

If you look at Andy Clark and Dylan Teague's art, Jim Lee has already made a bit of an appearance in the book.
Mind you, Lee has good linework and a bold way of framing a story, but it's a flashy kind of style.  Not sure what story it would fit.
It's still a good idea, though, but it would cost a bloody fortune.  Get Rob "Dr Teeth" Liefield in - he'll be cheap enough, he's just started a new X-force book, so you'll have to wait a few months until Marvel cancels it before he can start working on tooth.

The Amstor Computer

Dirty Frank weeps at the thought of having to put up with Liefield in 2K...

Smiley

About as good an idea as John Byrne, Michael Fleischer or Frank Miller was at one point, I'm afraid.

Generally Contrary

I'm not sure that it would be worth the money in terms of 'quality', but it might be a bold* strategy for cracking the American market.

*bold in terms of money spent - financial gamble - rather than creatively.

i meant it as a financial gamble, and it may not be that bad, say an 8 part dredd, written by wagner,if the story is solid, lee is an excellent artist, even if his style dosent suit, it would work.which could mean more money sepnt on 2000ad.
