Must admit when I discovered the 1st series I really enjoied it (didnt go "mad" for it but liked it enoght to giggle about it on the way to work sorta thing) but the first new episode tonight was in fact pants.
I found it very predictable and the new characters didnt really interest me....mind you neather did most of the old one's either. Came across as rush-job.

Hmmm...I said "giggle" that makes sound very gay.
I am the only gay in this Thread you know!

Perhaps "gawfaw" would be a better choice?

paulvonscott

"Perhaps "gawfaw" would be a better choice?"

Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't...

I think it's okay, gets the odd chuckle, but I think it's popularity is due to it being not bad in a comedy desert

No, not for me. For Proffesor Bear, or, as I belive he should be called, Proffesor Troll.

DavidXBrunt

Preferred the radio version. But then I'm a radio snob. I think 'Early Doors' is much better but never going to get the same sort of acclaim.

Quirkafleeg

I always thought that Little Britain was vastly overated. It takes the 'write six jokes and repeat them every episode'(TM The Fast Show) formula to the nth degree... and now I just find it irritating

Early Doors was good, now it's just depressing.

The Russian babysitter *was* really funny, though.

Byron Virgo

I got the DVD recently, and it is really good, but I think people are right about the repetition of the jokes: it does become tiresome after a while, which is why I ended up hating The Fast Show.

Early Doors is rubbishy cack though, by that twat from The Royle Family (Craig Cash)

IndigoPrime

At least The Fast Show had a lot of variety. By the third season, there was a massive number of characters, and even in its first season, it had more than Little Britain (which I actually like a fair amount, even if it's no classic).

Mr D

Sod Little Britain, Big Train comes out next week! Series 2 was less good, granted, but series 1 was great fun...

Max Kon

the radio version was ok

Proudhuff

I couldn't be arsed with it, I dislike the laugh at the funny /strange people school of humour, I prefer the laugh with em, I'm convinced thats the difference between Scots and English humour.

DDT did a job on me

House of Usher

But wasn't velvet soup a bit like laughing at strange people? Especially Quigley Cox.

I enjoyed Velvet Soup. And I like Little Britain.
STRIKE !!!

Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Generally Contrary

To draw this thread slightly off topic - I like 'Phoenix Nights' - a comedy where your sympathy is with the characters.
