Does anyone know how I can take screen-captures of video files (MP3s or Quicktime files, for instance)?  Or from DVDs I play through the pc DVD drive?

Shakara

If you're running the DVD on something like Power DVD or Sonic, there'll be a 'screen-capture' button...hunt around, normally the shortcut is 'C'.
However, if u don't you could just go old-skool and press 'Print Screen' on your keyboard and it'll be saved on you're clipboard.

now on-topic everyone

The "Print Screen" key won't work for Windows Media Player, you just get black. So, open a second window using the old version by typing "mplayer2.exe" at the Run command, and then use "Print Screen" to capture that.

heh. Even I know that one Bear. Click on the Start menu and then Run. Really fast. Or they'll catch you. :)

How do I open/view the clipboard?  Or turn the clipboard files into jpeg or bmp pics?

Shakara

you just paste them into paint and save them as the file type you want

Computer starts. I get one long beep and three short beeps.

Cheers.
