Krestel, have a look at the top 20 thrills on this site - only 4 of these are post-Prog 500.  ALL of the top 20 thrill suckers are from after Prog 500.  Certainly these have all been voted for by rose-tinted-spectacle wearing old fuddy duddies, but many of the old stories have never really been surpassed.  Apocalypse war, anybody?

 Dead Man still brilliant, Dredd too (except I've read it before)   R?gue has been left ?n t?p ?f a hill "to give the Simpson droid time to make each episode zarjaz above and beyond the call of duty", Slaine is alright but too dark
