Old Stories, lots of questions.....

Fiends from the Western Front or was it Eastern...Why oh why isn't this reprinted. And what was Metalxoic about? Is the history of 2000AD thats in the Megazine going out as a book? Its excellant, how long is running for? And was the Bad Company story that was recently published in 2000AD written recently, and why was the art so retro. It seemed familar yet oddly derivative.

Fiends was reprinted - in 1993 (see URL).

Metalzoic - robotic dinosaurs, wasn't it? The first creator-owned strip in 2000 AD, by Pat Mills and Kevin O'Neill, it was originally published by DC Comics.

Hopefully the History of 2000 AD articles will be collected as one big book, with additional material. I'm having to cut some articles to make them fit the 5000 word limit, although editor Alan Barnes gave me an extra 500 words for Part 5.

It was planned to be a 12-part series. The first article covered the pre-launch period and each article since has managed to stretch over about 75 progs. By my estimate it will take about 18 articles in total to reach the 25th anniversary prog.

Whether the series lasts that long depends upon the enthusiasm of readers and whether Alan is happy for it to continue.

Thanks ever so much for your reply. and congratulations on the history. Its class. Hope you enjoyed writing it as much as I have enjoyed reading it. Didn't you use to be an one of Thargs Droids-maybe you still are.
