It's my little boy's birthday next week and I would LOVE to get him one of those AT-AT toys I had as a kid (the boy has taste and Empire is his fave film!)

I got into a huge bidding war on one in decent condition on ebay yesterday and missed out in the last minute and have since trawled the net trying to find vintage Star Wars toys stockists in the UK that have any. Does anyone know a reliable place where I can find one (that won't cost a gazillion quid?)

Thanks everyone,

Pete.

Not for the first time, I am kicking myself for having given mine away to one of my ungrateful cousins...

What sort of condition does it have to be in and how much do you want to pay?  Does it need to be boxed?
Pffft...

Will this do...

Or how about this from FPI...

"Cast from high quality resin, and comprised of 230 separate parts. Based exactly on the original Industrial Light and Magic models used in the films. A permanent pose was selected that best captured the dramatic, iconic image of this classic vehicle. The model comes on a base where even the decompression action of the rising footpad, as the Imperial AT-AT stomps its way over the terrain, has been mimiced. Each Imperial AT-AT is meticulously hand painted to match the original color scheme used on the filming models. Key structural areas were also reinforced to ensure long-term stability. Limited to only 1,000 worldwide - we only have 5 available, so first come first served."

How much you willing to pay Pete?

I might know someone who would part with their's

Mikey

Could you not pick up one of the new ones cheaper?

I have my original in good nick-but I'm afraid not for sale at the mo'.

To tell the truth, you can all get screwed.

Pete Wells

As usual, thanks guys!

It wouldn't have to be in amazingly great nick and it certainly wouldn't need its box as I want the bairn to actually play with it (with a little help from me, I'm sure!) but at the same time some of those on ebay were really shoddy with most of the bits missing. I think I'd be willing to pay about ?60-?80, is this unreasonable?

Thanks again folks!

Pete.

I've got a Scout Walker, and have been thinking about going for an At-At myself. For the children, obviously...

Good luck with getting one Pete, and as for a reasonable price, I'd say that if you're prepared to pay it, then the price is reasonable.

Pete - I've emailed him and will let you know.

You could always give these guys a call, I'm pretty sure I saw the newer AT-ATs in there recently.

Pete,
He says no as his wife is keeping it (and the rest) for the grandkids.
Sorry.

There's a shop in Leicester that's had one in its window for yonks.  Of course, I'm not living *in* Leicester now, so it's a bit of a bind to go and have a look...

I'd raither cut a hand off than get rid of mine!
Got it Xmas 1983 and it's been with me ever since, it's battered, been filled with shaving foam & has lost some stickers but I still get goosey sometimes. I don't think I EVAH want a toy so much as a kid as I wanted an ATAT!

(adopts a Deep South twang to his voice) It sure has purrrrrdy legs too...

An original 80's one is pricey your best bet is a newer 90's one from a specalist shop.
