I forgot to vote for sin city, great stuff, I'd better do it. I haven't bothered analysing the art in Sin City, the story was just so amazing. For me it worked, tough, clean cut, dramatic.
Artistically I though the best story was death (at the risk of inflating frazers head to a large spherical helemt shaped thing through further praise), really exciting stuff. For the first time in years we've had a really refreshing artistic take on Dredd.
The judge helmets may be a case of McMahon's boots to some but I thought they were great. I liked the way Anderson looked, it's not her first makeover (and better than one artist's two dimension photo phoney). Oh yeah and get a load of Dredd's features, it's like he's kicking arse in 1977 again.
Really for me it was looking at Dredd and Mega City through a new pair of eyes. At least 50% of artists on Dredd just like so bored by the future and show this limp lifeless place as if they live by the motto familiarity breeds contempt.
As for the story, well I having a feeling it's only just begun. I think the front page shows us what we have lined up in future episodes.
Well you think the judges would keep tabs on everyone who comes into contact with death, they will now. But I think the point is that each time they double security and the precautions and each time Death always finds a way, a chink in their armour.
As for 13, started out on the right tack, when he entered that casino was when I started to feel a bit uneasy. I have a bad feeling about this...
Anyway as I said before, it could go either way.
Cheers paul
p.s. Round helmets are the future!
