There is an item on ebay that I have wanted since I was a kid but they will only ship within the states:(

I've contacted the seller and they are adamant that they will not ship overseas because of problems in the past.

Not sure why, papal solves this ssue you'd think, but...

Are there any Americans on here that would be willing to bid for me? I would set my highest bid and pay it into your paypal right away!

If i win it they would send it to you, then you could forward it to me.
And I will pick all costs of course.

I know it's a lot to ask but I would be extremely grateful( for what it's worth!)
Please mail me if you feel you could help me out (and I will try to assure you that I'm a trustworthy person!).

Thanks for that Shane- i'd really love to bid on it but it's over 150 dollars now with a day to go, I know it's going to get a lot higher-I just can't justify that kind of expense right now-

I think the simplest explanation for the guy's refusal to ship outside of the states is "too lazy to take anything complicated to the post office". I was a bit like that when I started selling on eBay, but selling internationally helped me reach some of my best buyers. It really depends on the item.

(I sold the 2000AD Placebo poster comic to America, Mexico and Europe, and sold a couple of Megazines to New Zealand)

I think you're right about that seller not shipping overseas- it makes no sense seeing as I'd have paid for all the postage anyway.
