I know MC-2 was nuked out of existance by Dredd during the Judgement Day debacle, but wasn't it rebuilt at some point later?

Rebuilding was afoot in the Millar/Steelgrove years but when they disappeared the threads were left dangling, if threads can indeed dangle.

No it was rebuilt by either Hondo or Sino-Cit as shown in Alan Mackenzie's Chopper series.

It was promptly forgotten about after that.

What gets me is that the site would clearly not be somewhere you could build on?after all, East Meg 1 is still a hole in the ground. Oh well.

Its Millar, what did you expect?

I can see what you mean, but I always assumed that East-Meg One didn't rebuild due to a lack of resources, rather than it being an impossible task.

Radiation can be nullified (as shown in the Captain Skank sequence).  Perhaps the site of MC-2 is the (assumed) new coastline (as it was a coastal city, so the ocean would have moved in to fill the crater).

The real question (for me) is why build a city when the population is dead?  Sure, you would have cits and Judges that were off-world or out of town, but how many?  Enough to warrant a new Mega-City?  Those were initially built because of a rapidly expanding population.

Hmmm...it's a tricky one.  No wonder it doesn't get referenced much in current storylines.
