Devons Daddy

another one is likely the columist Guy Browning

now and then a character or reference can be found towards 2000ad in his work.

Weak at the top,
talks of jury duty and his giving the defence lawyer a true JUDGE DREDD face.so he knew he meant business.

i have noticed references in his work.including ,resyk, droids, and other subtle but noticable comments.
I AM VERY BUSY!
PJ Maybe and I use the same dictionary, live with it.

NO 2000ad no life!

House of Usher

"That looks good, dunno what it is though - from a comic or something? Think I'll get it etched onto my skin forever anyway..."
STRIKE !!!

Not like the fuckin; Lightning Seeds...!

Ah yes - the joy of being at a Seeds gig post Euro 96 and their refusal to play "Three Lions" for the over-excited masses - who had paid for the intended mosh and abandon to be had with that one song, and had shouted for it in unison for two hours.

But for the handful of Seeds purists amongst the thousands, it was something of a victory for musical integrity - and for us.

Good on yer, Mr Broudie.

Queen Firey-Bou

ahhh like the heady days of the jesus & mary chain, who played long enough for us to leave the bar , catch one song, the lack of encore, and resultant semi riot of disgruntled punters.

still those 30 seconds of feedback rocked. sorta.

Oddboy

and they actually had the decency to give the crowd what they wanted

Saw Fun Lovin' Criminals at Reading Festival a few years back - they introduced 'Scooby Snacks' with: "Here's the 'Hit' - thanks for making us all rich!"
Better set your phaser to stun.

House of Usher

My Bloody Valentine.

Was that 6 whole minutes of feedback? Or was it 10? Or was it their entire set?

They toured with the Jesus and Mary Chain, if I remember correctly.
STRIKE !!!

Richmond Clements

Saw Faith No More play a load of stuff from the as yet unreleased Angel Dust, and refuse to play anything the crowd wanted to hear.

Kind of admired them for that.

Generally Contrary

The guy from The Human League was a 2000AD fan.

Grant Goggans

Atlanta, 1988: At least *eleven* minutes of feedback from the Jesus and Mary Chain, and that was their entire set.

Quirkafleeg

I was mildy pissed off when I saw the Stranglers and they never played No More Heros

Jared Katooie

Do the Stranglers even have any other songs?!

Oddboy

They played it at Guilford last year Gary.

J-K, yes: they did "Golden Brown" and "Always the Sun" too.
Better set your phaser to stun.
