Well, that was fun :-)

First impressions:

Slightly too fast-paced and a couple of slightly off moments (mostly the humourous ones, so it may just be personal taste), but in general a great second episode that lays some interesting hints for the future.

Great performances from Zoe Wanamaker & Billie Piper, and from the actress who played "Jabe". Plenty of excitement and some tense moments, and a little bit of horror. Loads of fun ideas - just a really, really fun episode.

The trailer for next week looks excellent, and if this is going to be the standard for the rest of the series we're in for a treat!

(oh, and applause for the generally great CGI! No complaints about naff CGI this week, I hope ;-) )

Judging by the trailer for next week could it be the first new series appearance of the master?

We haven't actually seen the destruction of Gallifrey yet. It's been hinted at in both episodes that there has been a war, and that the Time-Lords lost and have been destroyed. Who (although I have a good idea), when, or how has yet to be shown, but rumour has it that all will be explained in the 2 part series finale!

The Time Lord is Coming. Set the Recorder.

Copy and place in Calender accompanied with appropriately loud Alarm.

Do both Dr Who and Star Trek use Tri-corders?

NO, the doctor has his sonic screwdriver, which is different!

The Doctor's home planet of Gallifrey has been destroyed. The Time Lords are dead, their TARDISes annihilated. The man responsible has been tracked down and lured to Earth in the year 2005, where there will be no escape. But Earth has its hands full - a mystery signal is being received from a radio telescope, there's a second moon in the sky, and a primordial alien menace has been unleashed. The stage is set for the ultimate confrontation. Now, the last of the Time Lords must ensure that justice is done. The Doctor and his companions Fitz and Trix will meet their destiny. And this time, the Doctor isn't going to be able to save everybody. This is the last in the continuing series of original adventures of the Eighth Doctor.

Anyone ready this or know's if it's related to the end of Gallifrey that is mentioned in the current series?

The BBC has updated it's frontpage for Dr Who, for the Unquiet dead episode.  Even on the net they seem to be making a real effort.
