Had an idea about the old rich in Mega City one, the equivalent of New York Wasp, except more multi racial as the snobbery of old money unites them, more than anyhting divides them. The old Aristocracy sent their second sons into the miltiary and I could see it beinmg fashionable for the old riche to have a child who's a judge. Obviously these aristo-judges would be indoctribated by the justice system and have thta as a primary loyalty, but I like the idea of them being brain washed pre-training having a secondary loyalty to their families as a personality trait hidden from even them. This remains hidden until one of them investigates a Teddy Kennedy style death.
Before I get off my big arse and look into this can any one tell me if it's been done before as I'm developing the horrible habit of accidental plagarism.

what about demarco apart from the brainwashing

JimBob

Yeah she inherited the money but apart from her nekkid shenanigans there was no conflict of interest, I've only got as far as the pit for De Marco, and I know shes now an ex-judge, was that her decision?

red_lichtie

It was her decision. Can't say any more because that would spoil it.

This was done in David Bishop's JD novel The Savage Amusement. Orton was a psi-blanked clone that was found by Anderson on City Bottom and later became a judge due to his skills. He turned out to be a clone of the criminal Savage who tried to wipe out most of the Judges with a clone specific virus.

Great books, something I think should be started up again! They also gave the city so much more depth showing more of normal life than you could get in 2000AD. Much like the new stories like Death Trap of course but more so!

We'll say no more about the Bishop novels (gagh), but the class sytem you mentioned is active in Brit-Cit. I can't see it working out in MC-1. You'll see what I mean when an official guidebook to Brit-Cit is published around Sept-Oct ths year.
