Funt Solo

Prog 146, and I was 10.

(Such was the thrill-power emanating from this prog that another kid tried to claim it as his own.  In a scene that would have irked King Solomon, the prog was ripped clean in half.)
An angry nineties throwback who needs to get a room ... at a massively lesbian gymkhana.

Megadeth

Prog 1357, i was 17, had just started buying American comics and had no chance of resisting this cover.

Haven't missed a Prog since : )

Jumped on board the Meg with the Judge Giant Special. http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/1357.jpg">

Lord Running Clam

Prog 1191 was the first prog I read.I didn't start reading 2000ad weekly till prog 1197.

I can't remember which Megazine I started on,though.http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/thumbnails/1191thumb.jpg">

Funt Solo

(It would appear that, so far at least, the cover is very important in attracting new Squaxx.  These are all top notch covers.)

Trout

Who could fail to be hooked by this?

I was six, and my mum used to sit and read my progs with me, to improve my reading.

Megadeth

Well when i jumped on board i only made the trip to my "local" comic shop once a month so when in one of my comic deprived states i stumbled upon this cover in WHSmiths i had no choice but to buy it.

Just looking through what was in the Prog in the months after i started and it really was quite poor. Only From Grace and Cabs stand out for me, although it's a shame i only jumped in at the tail end of Leviathan.

Artificial Idiot

Well, I was actually put off by the price for about a month. Completely missing the Meg befiore the one I posted (with an equally impressive cover!) and kicking myself for missing the first part of Six, Cursed Earth Koburn and The Simping Detective... Bah.

Max Kon

i bought the previous one a few weeks later

this was what i bought first. I was going to read just the Meg, but needed more thrill power and by the time i decided to get the prog too it was too late for 1289

Noisybast

520.
Pretty duff cover, really.
Ace prog, though!http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/520.jpg">
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Tweak72
